Cheap Truck Challenge! $2500 rigs at the Hammers!

This is the 2nd annual "Clawhammer Challenge". 8 rigs, $2500 spending limit, one trail. Seeing as how last year I brought the smallest Ford truck ever made (Courier), I figured why not bring the biggest Ford truck this year! Good times ensued! If you are interested in the truck, be sure to check out the 6 episode build series on my channel. Enjoy!

I had a 1991 f250. Had a 5.8 and a 5 speed. Bolted some 32 inch muddies on it with the stock rims. Ran most trails in big bear with it, including John Bull at one point. Was in it about 2k. Was fun driving past guys with fully bult jks on 40s. Didn't have enough power to break itself so kinda just pointed it and dropped the clutch lol.

Watched the whole build series. Enjoyed it and was cool to see the very budget build. Shows you can have fun and dont need to spend 75k on some crazy rig. I had always wondered how well a cheap superduty would do offroad. Seems like a much shorter wb would be better? Maybe a crewcab short bed or a ex cab short bed? Everyone always swaps superduty axles into their offroad vehicle so why not start with a superduty! 😂

It's definitely not an ideal rock truck being a limo but always cool to see a cheap truck challenge channel would be such a blast. I personally would cut the box and drag the rear axle forward but then it defeats the cheap truck challenge part.

My rig “appeared” nice. The body was completely destroyed by Minnesota rust. I know this might hurt to hear, but your Z71 came with chrome tubes to help you step into the cab, those are too low and too weak to function as true sliders.
