This is a good example of what basic 4WD can actually accomplish. It’s can be impressive, but you definitely need momentum and have to be smooth. It will help Andre a lot! His off-road style is still improving. With locker/s you can get away with more and the start/stop method works most of the time. If you just approach slowly and ease into the throttle, you can accomplish sooooo much more. Keep it moving at all times it’s safe to do so. When you have to THEN you stop. Roman can do this very well hen he applies the theory, very well! Nathan drives like that all the time (usually) but can be a little aggressive. I drive much like Nathan does. Most of our group does. We have been saying “MOMENTUM BAYBYYYY”” a long time and laughed hilariously when we first heard Nathan say it some years ago now! Hahaha. This is a great series and the trucks are a very good representation of what’s out there for older trucks! Especially Nathan’s truck. Once the transmission is replaced and the few interior bits, that will be a very nice truck again. The body work can be dealt with over time...... I prefer the Dodge in this series, but am a Ford guy otherwise.

@@GhostRider-iw4gr - yeah, yeahhhhh. I was very GM, but as a kid, 17, bought a tire shop (1/3, dad had some $$ he loaned me). Then I started buying the farm when I was 23 as I had bought out the 2 partners (both stealing from the business) and did ok. The best vehicle at that time was GM until 1987 , then the front ends were too light for constant off-road use. So I tried 1 dodge and a trio of Fords in one year to see. The Dodge was powerful enough, but not very reliable. The Fords were so/so, but I also befriended to owner of the Ford dealership. I mixed and matched for a while, but was spending too much paying for 1 truck at a time. The farm grew as did the need for 1/2 tons and 3/4 & 1 tons also. Put a package together for bids, 3 pickups and 2 diesel HD trucks in 1998. Ford was the cheapest,,,,,,. Everything was pretty decent. With no issues. I lived a long way out of town (over 2 hours, the middle of nowhere,,,, then a couple of more miles) routine services on the new trucks was expensive when the dealership was being a pain in the *ss. The Ford dealership said keep the receipts and they would send a tech out once a year to go over things. HUGE savings. We already kept the receipts, mileage etc. Stuck with Ford. They have been dead reliable. You fall into a pattern. I also have a 1990 Chevy 454SS!! Mint and less than 30,000 km (just under 19,000 miles). Any of the older trucks will likely be Chevy/GMC.

I had a 99 Ram 1500 regular cab 4x4. 318 and 5 speed. It was a good truck, up until the local dealership did a clutch replacement job thanks to a throwout bearing that decided to grenade itself and send shrapnel through the clutch assembly, ugg. They managed to screw up the job, leaving a terrible vibration, they got the truck back after the vibration and unbalanced flywheel took out all the bearings LOL. Got to walk away from that one without a hit to my wallet. The truck had 3.55 gears in it, awesome fuel economy on the highway, I'd average 26mpg on the highway with it, but it sucked for towing, you started running out of gears real quick up in the mountains LOL. I'd love to find another one it would go anywhere and I always had people ask what lift it had. It was stock but back then they had a great high stock height to them, they looked like a truck unlike many of today's soccer mom family sedans with a bed attached. I was surprised how much storage room was behind the seat too for being a regular cab it had quite a bit of space actually had an organizer tray in the back attached to the floor and back wall of the cab for tools and such. Would never own one with an automatic though.

The Triton engines have very beefy bottom ends, and the transmissions are pretty durable when compared to the GM and Dodge 4 speeds. The 10th gen Fords are the Crown Vic of trucks.

That issue was resolved by going to champion plugs. The 4.6 was a little better off road due to the slow rev and low end torque. Had they used an H9 axle set instead of that unlocked shit they had, it would've been a no contest show. The H9 is an 8.8 with 3.55 gearing.
