These room renovation segments are my favorites of The Chateau Diaries. Totally addicted to the entire series, but there is so much valuable information in these segments. Thank you.
I love the fact that every little piece of the château has a story to tell
Again, another beautiful room . And yes, you do need a grand chandelier ! Thank you for sharing.

This is one of your vintage vligs! I've never seen it. I loved hearing the history of the room and all its contents. Wow, you have done a lot. It's easy to look at things and just see the beauty. You've poured ypur blood sweat and tears into this home. As someone whose restored 3, going on 4 historic homes you are the caretaker! It tskes all your resources. You woukdbt have it any other way. You deserve every bit of assistance that comes your way! Bravo!!!
The wallpaper is fabulous! What a delicious room!
I love your renovation series, showing us how each room was basically created from ruble. Your charity shop and auction finds are simply stunning.
Beautiful dining room. I love the red wallpaper--such rich deep tones. And the white candleabra are gorgeous. You have so many talents! The curtains are sumptuous as well! Thank you for sharing your beautiful Chateau with us! I completely love your vlogs!
I just love your dining room! Actually, I'm on a personal quest to bring back the dining room in its own right...I hate all this entertaining in the kitchen, sitting amongst the chaos of preparing a meal. You cannot beat an elegantly set dining table, with flickering candlelight, lots of flowing wine and good company!

Absolutely. I believe the dining room is the most important room in the house. It sets the tone for gracious living. Everything becomes just a bit more special in a beautiful dining room with gorgeous food served on fine china with sterling silver and crystal.

I absolutely have to agree with you. So many people nowadays have little recollection of actually having experienced a formal dinner in a dining room. In the late 70's when I began working, I searched for a couple of years for an antique dining room set that I knew when I found it, it would be endearing to me until the day I died. I actually found that. It was an English Edwardian set that even to this day, when I walk past the dining room I smile. I've not seen anything similar. Needless to say there is no Corelle in my home. Although my identical twin brother and I may share the same DNA, he says a dining room is a waste of space and that is the furthest from my beliefs. Dinners are often 7 to 12 courses. We use my grandmother's silverware, the Aynsley Seville dinnerware, crystal stemware and Irish linen. Nothing in this house is held for ransom. I wish you were my neighbour. I'd have you over at least once a week. Cheers and let's bring back the dining room! Darryl

50Street21 Thanks and I’d be happy to come. I’d invite you as well. Gracious living doesn’t have to be dead as long as there are some who are willing to make the effort.
❤️❤️❤️ Did the curtains get made Stephanie? LOL... ❤️❤️❤️
I love this room, and all of Stepanie's decorating style. Nothing matches, but it all "goes." Even her dress is complementary!
So much fun, your enthusiasm is refreshing. I now look forward to Thursdays and Sundays because of Chateau Diaries. Your ability to mix and match fabrics and designs is amazing. Even the dress you wore added to the overall feeling in the room. Well done!
You are living my dream...I collected silver(plate) for years, I now have a service for 12, with chargers, fruit bowls(individual), large fruit bowls, and a luncheon service for six(silverware), I also have sideboard pieces, for serving, chafing dishes, and two monteith bowls( for rinsing glasses between courses)- they look like Barby punch bowls...I also have a double(2) set of chargers(diff pattern), fruit bowls, chargers, etc...but now I don't have a table! Or a dining room...and trays for serving...as I said, it is all silver plate, but very nice...they would be nice for a bnb...and no worry about someone pocketing it(silver plate, not Sterling...)let me know if you would be interested...I understand you are going for top shelf things, but if this would do..let me know!
I came from the Diaries bc I’m closing in on caught up and I cannot stand it!! How incredibly lucky for me all of the Sunday’s go back!! I love love love this!!
Another joyous celebration of your curatorial chateau skills Stephanie and you are so right about the colour and flow of inter-connecting rooms. Your patience in waiting to source/find the right pieces to complement style is something we too adopt ... and, always nice to have things that resonate with family and friends' memories. Keep on trucking. As a former telly exec you are a natural, engaging (if garrulous) and a thoroughly delightful presenter. How you do the vlogs and run the place is phenomenal .. clearly gifted in time management! Hope to drop by Lalande at some point,
Love the chinoiserie wallpaper. So lovely. Here in the South (USA) we truly believe the lady of the house should always make the dining room a color that flatters her. It is her room where she is to glow as hostess. The red is perfect for you.

I believe historically dining rooms were red because it is a stimulating colour, ie, to stimulate conversation, as opposed to say green which is a relaxing colour. You want your guest to talk and converse whilst eating.
Your black sofa and chinoiserie paper and bar are wonderful. I love the dining room. Your drapery making is superb!
Family is every thing. My grandmas house was where we celebrated everything there. Everything was very formal but that was my grandmas way of making It special to us all.
Ive been watching the channel four programme like so many ,i found you and cant stop watching your vlogs plus diaries ,the decorating of the chateau with fabric and keeping the original elements of the room is brilliant i wish id of done this but you give me the time to live the dream for a little bit anyway thankyou xx
I love that wallpaper! So rich and inviting. I am also loving those chairs! Beautiful. What a great room!

Fabulous room Stephanie. I love your colour scheme. 😀❤️
I am so loving these vlogs. Thanks a million.
The wall lights and the painting stole my heart! ❤
Beautiful as always, i love these videos they shine a lot of light on your home x
turned out so lovely- what a wonderful room !!
Lovely Dining Room...Perfection!!! ♥️
It is such a beautiful warm room. Thankyou for showing us how you created it all.. .. just love seeing how it all came together xxx
So good to see the journey you took to arrive at such a welcoming dining room!
Very interesting series about every room. Love your shirt in front of the picture - very matching🌷...
Lovely video as ever - by the way, the glass urn with the tap - it's an absinthe fountain to drip the water slowly over a sugar lump on an absinthe spoon into a glass of the green fairy!! Certain old school Parisians would deem it somewhat sacrilegious to fill such a vessel with ready mixed drinks... mais vive la révolution !
You put so much work into your designs it’s amazing to hear!
Totally delightful!
Oh my word...such a gorgeous dinning room. I love red too.
Love this room. A toast to you Lady Stephanie and thank you for your beautiful stories of each piece. God bless you.
Stephanie I saw you and Angel distressing mirror the other day and wanted to say that their is a great way of achieving this look with Krylon Mirror spray paint. You use it on one side of plain glass, first spray with a vinegar solution to 'spot' it then as many layers of paint as you wish for the effect. You have to sort of dab here and there to get the finish. I have also seen it with pale mirror effect then placed over old wallpaper that peaks through it. I have used this paint and besides the horrible smell it is easy to use and much cheaper than plate glass ! There are other makes of this paint, I think that Rustoleum do one in France. ( I live in France near Angel ) Its about 15 euros a tin and it can do quite a lot.
Stunningly beautiful room. Enjoyed.
What a delight
Hello from Texas! I love your channel and love your stories of how you found your beautiful things!
LOVE the wallpaper, it’s amazing!
There is a story to every thing around us. Love the story of the scenes of the beautiful dinning room wall paper! I have always loved wall papers. I love to have all my collected treasures around me and on view. Every item has its own special history of how , where , why and when it was created, purchased and loved. Each of your treasures makes me feel the history and I am in awe like a time traveller. My thoughts travel through my looking-glass seeing your beautiful Chateau and hearing your stories! Once my very minimalist friend commented that my home was like visiting a museum. I liked that because with all my travels and interests all my treasures are on display and represent different cultures, history and time periods! You inspire me with your intent to finish the drapes! What a talented person. Your beautiful Chateau is truly you and yours! ~k
Wow! As soon as I saw this dining room I had a strong sense of deja vu, for years I have had a dream where I am in a room so similar, I'm blown away Stephanie and I am loving following along with you on your chateau journey, I love how creative and joyful you and your mother are, thank you 💖
Stephanie, you are so very artistic. It seems like you have been trained in some way for this kind of work. But however, this works you have a talent for decorating and architecture Love you Dining room, Looks very rich and stylish. The Wal paper is perfect and the ceiling borders.!
Absolutely love it .
Your videos are a welcoming relief in a maddening world. Much like a Harry Potter book it makes one escape reality for a while. Love it!! 💖🌠💐
Oh dear Stephany, defini, tely even mountains will come to you ! all your energy and commitment never end . Congratulations
Im obsessed ! I love you and your family !! Your vlog..everyone a delightful escape..!!
So fun to hear the history behind everything!!

So happy you're enjoying it! Thanks!
Another fascinating insight into how the Chateau has transitioned to what it is today, I love the way one walks through each room rather than a corridor as one simply then has closed off rooms, I adore the chinoiserie wallpaper, many years ago a very fancy pants interior designer who came from the Colefax Fowler route gave me a tip ! Always include a bit of black to each room ! For too many years to remember I have and love it ! And can see you do also so ! perhaps you too met her , but more likely you have intuitive style that came from the family , your grandmother looked so stylish and rather aristocratic. What wonderful gifts from you aunt/ godmother, what a gem of a woman x I love that dining room and it will be well used ! 12 chairs all matching and a great comfy sofa ! In Black too. This is a wonderful, wonderful Vlog, you are a natural Stephanie, love the parrots, love the painting, so much to see and adore. Sunday Vlog is a massive success and the highlight of Sunday x
Brilliant room! Love it!
You are truly inspirational---love the videos and your commentary
Another entertaining and informative video. I love them Stephanie.
Stunning! I hope I can eat a lovely meal in this precious dinning room someday!
I live in a Georgian home in Maryland USA and our dining room is also the warmest.... I wonder why.
Beautiful coming along lovely
Such a talented lady !! 🌹🌹
Your enthusiasm for beautiful things is contagious. I love porcelain too and so excited to find you love porcelain. You have beautiful taste. You really are so happy with all of your discoveries Just love listening as you explain all of your finds And I love your drapes. They are exquisite
Really interesting to learn about all these renovation details. And I wonder, Stephanie, is there anything you can't do? You renovate, run the chateau, you have a beautiful singing voice, you're a great cook, you know a lot about fabrics, art, decorations, china etc., you can sow, repolster, vlog, edit, you dance very elegantly, .. the list is endless. Philip is a lucky guy :-)
Stephanie, you are meant to be a Queen 👸 ❤, your breeding, style and taste are definitely Royal 👌...lots of blue blood 💙. Bravo 👏 lots of love ❤
Love your dining room and your chateau. I discovered your channel recently during the quarantine and have been hooked. Your are so beautiful, you look like a real princess from fairy tales, with your long blond hair... Chateau Lalonde was waiting for you! And I love your cheerful and optimistic personality. And your colourful dresses with beads necklaces. This is a job of a lifetime to redo a Chateau, the French should decorate you for saving their patrimony. Cheers from Canada!
This is a wonderful room! 👍👍♥️🌹🌺🌻💐🏵️
Thank you for the great vlog. Very informative. What a beautiful room.
Wonderful stories . Thank you. xxx
STEPHANIE! You are a genius! You speak beautifully and your genuine effervescence, is absolutely enthralling! Wonderful!. Thanks for the fun, interesting and COSY vlogs. The quality 4K video is awesome! Better than NZ telly and NZ netflix. Your quality vlog is free! Your spark and absolute delight make Chateau life so delightful! Excellent vlog in every way! Vive la France! Congratulations to you and mummy for winning the French version of four(6) in a bed! I still haven't been able to find it on utube. ( the French version you two are in is the only episodes I can't find.) Its actually a very good French show I enjoyed watching them. Some wonderful homes in gorgeous locations throughout France!
What a delightful video, the dining room is stunning. I did adore the wallpaper sample. I too have fabric sitting waiting for my bedroom curtains, need to get them done to keep out the heat of our hideous summer, must get cracking! Until next week...
Exquisite!
BEAUTIFUL!!!
The Japanese teapot is Arita of Fukagawa in the Pagoda pattern 903. My uncle brought my mother back a 12 piece place setting in the 1950's from Japan. I have it now. Seeing it in your beautiful dining room inspired me to try to design a table scape. I have a large table that can extend to seat 12 and lots of crystal I never use. I don't have the cutlery though. Do you have any suggestions for table design? I would probably do it next Thanksgiving or Christmas. You are so inspiring to see your dedication to style and hospitality. Thank you.
That dress is really lovely Stephanie! I'm also very envious of your talent and ability to track down all of those beautiful home items. In Canada we don't get quite the same level of beautiful antiques.
That was extremely interesting.
Absolutely stunning dining room

What a lovely room, you have great decorating taste, I too love red rooms, my aunt has a toilet painted in red with simple drawings my cousin had done on the walls and it’s my favourite room in her house, lol. Love your story’s thanks so much from 🇦🇺
Great ideas❤️❤️
Your candelabra create a nice contrast against the red chinoiserie wallpaper. I can't imagine anything else working quite as well. I immediately recognized your sideboard as being English and in my opinion would equate it to the traditional Hepplewhite design. What I admire about you Stephanie, is that an item didn't just come into your home, but rather, it came into your home with a story and some provenance. Fabulous job. Your videos inspire me. Darryl
I find these videos fascinating and so inspiring, thank you for sharing them! If you make the door curtains I will knit the jumper! I have had the pattern for 15 years since we came to France hehehe! Is it a deal? :))

Wow! What a stunning transformation! Love the fact that you have your own vision for each room and are patient enough to wait until you come across exactly the the right thing. I adore charity shop finds too although I think your French shops have an enormous amount of stock and rather more amazing finds than the majority in England although we do have some pretty incredible flea markets here to bag a bargain! I also love the nerve wracking thrill of online auctions! I have bought some super lampshades from America that I just couldn't find in the UK (except Harrods probably!) although I haven't bought many chandeliers recently!! Another great and informative vlog - thank you!

Glad you enjoyed the story, I was so happy when it was first told to me - I always think of those lovers when I look at the willow pattern now 💙
Okay, 6 months later, did you make those curtains? Just teasing - I know how busy you are!!
Lovely , the dining room is just stunning , I hope you find the perfect rug and chandelier for it so you can feel finished. What luck to find all 12 chairs, an angel of the palace is obviously leading you to find treasures . Can’t wait till next Sunday, I’m so enjoying these videos of how the rooms arrived at their current elegance and seeing how they started. Well done! ✨💖✨🥰🙋🏼

Thank you for sharing your beautiful dining room. I have been so intrigued by the wall paper. I have a small windowless powder room that I wonder about the idea of decorating in dark colors. The floors are slate.
Beautiful room. (Probably a) lovely wine and (for sure a) great presenter !! (I bet the cheese was good as well). 😋 (I ate French cheese, French wine and French food at a French restaurant in Madrid yesterday so I’m not jealous this Sunday 🤣🤣)

They are aaaallll beautiful rooms because your heart is in every detail and it radiates in the whole atmosphere. I really need to go there one day, I’m a great DIYer 🙂 I’ve gone through a similar journey like you on my own house which I’ve renovated over the last 10 years (but it’s not a historic building). I really know what you’ve gone through, I also went through the whole living at a ‘damp cold house because of pulling up the floor for new concrete and underfloor heating’ process, but now it’s done and the house is nice and warm 🙂 Looking forward to the Thursday vlog !
Would love to visit!
That green wallpaper was gorgeous too!
A big beautiful white chandelier.
You are such fun...
I have watched your video two days ago and today I was looking for some brocante in Normandy , I looked at their pictures and I found chairs with the same fabric than the chairs in your dinning room!! This is so funny! they look the same but they are round on the back. I took a picture if you want
Wallpaper story is like the opera song O mio babbino caro by Giacomo Puccini 😊
Your Aunt/Godmother sounds wonderful!
I'm loving looking at these older vlogs that detail the rooms downstairs and their creation. At some point, when you have nothing better to do (when will that be?) will you edit with a shot of the camera placed in the center of the room and spinning in a circle so we can have an idea of the entire layout? Thanks for what you do. I don't mean to complain or troll - I know I'll never be able to see the chateau in person and would love a full shot of every single space. :) If it were possible for a drone to do an overhead shot, I'd ask for that too. I love drone shots.
