Charolais - French Beef and Snails | What's cookin'
Ойын-сауық
In Burgundy, in the village of St-Christophe, lives the Preynat family. Henri, the father, is retired since 10 years but is still working in the farm with his two daughters, Lauren and Florence. He hopes that the girls will, one day, take up the torch and take care of the cows and the goats. The sisters aren't sure yet, that they want to do their father's job, even if farmer is not a man's job anymore.
The mother, Jocelyne, produces goat cheese that her husband is selling through the region.
The whole family likes to cook and to prepare typical French dishes, like pot-au-feu, the famous Bresse chicken or the essentials snails.
What's cookin' is about traditional culinary recipes from different European regions.

Where would we be without farmers! Without them, the world would starve.

We'd be okay. We have agribusiness with advanced tech for harvesting and indigestible GMO wheat for everyone to grow fat on.
Amazing! I can't stop watching these documentaries, the food, the people, the stories, wow, 10 thumbs up!

Their job is tough, but peaceful....

So beautiful and wholesome, responsible and ethical way to treat not only the animals but our planet.
Too short ! I could spend my whole life watching. The French really know how to eat. That blue-legged chicken had me wanting it so bad !
Such simplicity and charm is addictive!!

Je suis nostalgique de la nourriture de France. J'adore la cuisine provençale, avec le Blanc de Blanc, et, and gros morceau de Camembert.
I love this show thx for uploading
Very good video , it's very different from the France we think we know of

I gotta tell you. This life is my Dream. Would totally like this way of life. In America we mill ourselves working in jobs we hate. I couldn’t even imagine being happy with work
Old man is a good singer too 👏🏻

Perfect documentary, thanks for sharing!😊🌐😊
Hey, there's a small translation error: near 5:50, the woman said the grass is rich in nitrogren, not oxygen ( "azote" rougly pronounced "ah-z-oh-t", means nitrogen compared to "oxygène", rougly pronounced "ox-ee-j-N"). Anyways, have a nice day.

She actually says: "beaucoup d'acidité", meaning it is very acidic, and why she also says it is very sour!

Grass will be rich in nitrogen if fertilisers are used, which could be good for the chickens.

Like all living things, grass needs nutrients to thrive, and nitrogen is the most important nutrient. An easy way to supply your grass with nitrogen is to leave grass clippings on the ground whenever you mow.
Such a sweet place to visit. Thank you for this video, so warm and vintage for me. Would so love to visit and spend 5 months to learn to live like them but, i must keep my pepper coming to that axis every hour
For me, France is the best country in Europe. Best wine, best cheese, great delicacies and great people.
What a beautiful family well done

Amazing and peaceful
Charolais cattle are lean, mean, tough, and flighty. My father raised them. After growing up eating them I stopped eating beef for about 10 years. Then I discovered wagyu.
wow beautiful life
Peaceful and beautiful farm life! What a wonderful family with a nice touch of nature. Farm work is very difficult for young ladies. His daughter's need two strong men to help them with the continuation of the farm. And give birth to wonderful children.

What a beautiful life, I enjoyed this video !👍👍💖💖
It’s amazing how so many people through out the world depend on animals to make a living.
best part is 1:01 where the dog, drinking the goat's milk, lightly snaps at goat's nose for wanting a taste...OF ITS OWN MILK
loved it.
The song at 25:04min is "Salut les amoureux", a french version of "City of New Orleans". the music is same, but the lyric is not.

France is beautiful, the farming is organized and clean, unlike those countries whose cows are mad cows feeding cattle with pellets made of beef
