She was lowering her standards to be with a man which is one of the most awful things a woman can do, but Harry a real gentleman didn't let her do it, and proposes her, that was beautiful. That is why I don't like the reboot.

One thing that I love about this scene is that neither of them tries to play it cool or to diminish the pain of being away from each other. It's not so common to see this kind of honesty in scenes that involve exes.

"I would be lucky to have you." Makes me tear up every time. The "I'm SO coming back next week" was the perfect comic relief.

What I really loved about this is that Charlotte killed herself to become Jewish for Harry and once they broke up, she kept practicing Judaism. That was a very cool thing to show that it wasn't just something she did to get Harry. She volunteered, organized, and kept going. Good for SATC!

He probably doesn't want to get married again, and is fine being with Charlotte, if she didn't convert, he probably just didn't want to marry her. And if he does want to get married, it's his ONE thing is she has to be Jewish.

Harry is my favourite man in the show! He’s smart, funny and lovable. His love to Charlottes is loyal and genuine. I grow to love him more when I watched the show.

also, the transitions of the many many emotions she had to deliver were immense! from solitude, longingness, happiness, sadness, vulnerability and honesty, happiness again, and fulfillment. this was one of charlotte and kristin’s best moments!

Their love story is a very powerful lesson. What you need may come in the package you least expect. Don't be shallow ❤

Regardless, Charlotte found a true spiritual connection with Judaism. Which just further illustrates the point. She found happiness when she gave up on expecting it to look one certain cookie cutter way.

I love this scene so much because I always saw it as a symbol of Charlotte naturally letting go of all the perfect, unrealistic ideals she had throughout the entire show, which was basically what her whole character was built on. She ends up finding genuine happiness by dropping her search for the picture perfect. So real and well written/acted. Just lovely.

Charlotte has some of the best lines. “I curse the day you were born” 🤣

hey sometimes it's the one you would least expect, i mean my dad out of his friends, he always would have new girlfriends till he met my mom and out of all of them he's the only one not to get divorced and still is very much in love with my mom till this day

Honestly, he looks great! For his age, he's fit and well kept. Has a great job. He's a catch! It's really sad so many of us grew up in the 90s where we felt like we had to either look like Brad Pitt or Kate Moss to be considered beautiful.

Harry was the first man to have Charlotte let go and let god, she was always so meticulous about her dream of having the perfect marriage and family. Harry comes in and makes the imperfections perfect and anything she thought she wanted couldn’t compare to what she got in the end. Real love! 1:01 char was willing to sacrifice her dream of a family for Harry 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥✨✨✨✨✨✨

Charlotte was the biggest dreamer among her friends. She had the highest standards among them in matter of looks and status. But once she let go of her rigid ideas, the moment she embraced happiness over pretention is when she finally found it..

My most favorite scene out of all in the series. It's so beautiful, so pure and sincere.

Their rawness and love for each other is just so beautiful.

This scene was perfect. I only wish the reboot was anywhere near this good.

Rewatching SATC just makes you realize how ridiculous the new show is. Bad writing, too woke, characters who have changed beyond all recognition, new characters that are flat out awful.....what a waste of a potentially good new show. Kim Cattrall was right to pass on this hot mess.

I don't have cable so I haven't watched the reboot of the show. I actually think that's a good thing.. While watching little snippets like this and reading the comments I think I've done myself a favor by not having cable and not watching what everybody's commenting on. I have yet to read a single comment that says that the reboot is any good.

Charlotte and Harry’s love story is the true definition of ‘Love is patient, love is kind” ❤❤❤

I remember watching this in my first year university in my dorm room after another break up. I sobbed so much. I love Harry for her and how vulnerable she was with him.

This was th most heartwarming proposal scene ive seen no screaming, just soft tears.

The women at the end: “I’m coming back next week.” “Uh-huh.” 😂😂😂

This scene and when Miranda meets Steve on the Brooklyn Bridge are among best tv scenes of all time.

The Brooklyn Bridge scene is from the first movie. It is very moving but, Steve from the original series would never have cheated on Miranda.

I just love this scene. 2 people in a completely vulnerable position and hopelessly in love and have no problem putting any ego to one side to show their true feelings.

as far as underrated characters go, charlotte is absolutely killing it!

I’m not a huge fan of SATC, but I’m a huge fan of this relationship. It’s also a huge lesson that the “right” person might not necessarily come in the package that you are expecting

This is one of the best scenes in SATC. I still choke up every time I watch it!

My favorite detail about Charlotte that’s overlooked in this scene (though this shows quite the amount of character growth for her) is the fact that she’s at a jewish mixer. Even after her break up with Harry, she continues the faith. Yes, she converted to Judaism to marry Harry but she clearly did her work, learned about it, and respected it (and by extension, him) enough to continue living her life by it-with or without him. Love that they didn’t just have her drop it the moment they broke up because it was more than just some interest she picked up for a man and I’m so glad they’re still together and in love.

I can't believe that little bit of acting can make me cry immediately.

It doesn't matter how many times I watch this scene, and believe me it's been a ton lol It still gets me teary eyed every time!! One of my personal favorite scenes in the series

Marriage was important for Charlotte. It's sad how much everyone is dismissive of that. People praising her because at the end she gave in. No, that's a horrible example. When something is important to you, if the other person cannot do it for you, then they are not the person for you. It is that simple.

I think this particular scene wasnt about Charlotte 'giving in'. It was more about impatiently and angrily demanding a propsal from Harry because she, in her eyes had done all the things that made it able for them to get married and she thought he should have proposed sooner because he was so "lucky to have her" and degraded him when she pointed it out, forgetting what really mattered. In this scene she let that go. Major character development.

@@EmpressCity yes - this! It was about what she said: “Don’t you know what people think when they see us together?” Like, you are so lucky to have me, you better propose right now. Trying to manipulate him just like she did her first husband - which did not go well. Harry isn’t Tre. So, she had to apologize and let him know that she wanted him for him, not for a ring and the “perfect” life. And he loves her so much, he brought the ring with him to the mixer hoping she would be there. They are very sweet together.

She isn't giving in in my opinion. Her priorities have changed after the divorce and after meeting Harry. I think that the measure of her love for Harry surprised her too. I think that in a particular moment, in a particular way, she surprised first herself, when she realized that a life with Harry would have been all she ever wanted, with or without rings.

She shouldn’t have to even thought of giving up her dream. Good that worked for her at the end, but I don’t really like when women give up stuff. It’s so embedded in women upbringing to accommodate someone else’s needs or wants. It’s ok to put yourself first.

An overarching theme for Charlotte throughout the show has been her letting go of her visualised dream to actually live her dream. She married someone who looked perfect on paper but wasn't actually compatible with her, and then met Harry who was the opposite of what she thought she wanted but turned out to be her ideal partner. It's not her giving up on STH but rather her putting her actual wants and needs over what she always thought(!) she wanted.

I don't see it that way- in earlier episode she was pressuring Harry to set the date & that he was lucky to have her. She realized how much she missed him & told him- he then realized what he meant to her. Compromise- it's what makes marriages work.

Too much me, me, me in this world is why we have so many problems. She messed things up to begin with. She was the one who needed to give in this situation. He knew her so well. Of course, he was ready to propose when she realized what she needed to do. I am so tired of us women being demanding and believing that everything we do for everyone means we should be hero worshipped for it. Love does not keep score. I have had two wonderful marriages. My first husband died of cancer. I would not trade places with anyone.

My brother is a "baldie" and considered by some to be a "fatty" as well - but he truly is a nice Jewish guy with a great sense of humor, so I'm not surprised my sweet sister-in-law (even with a voice somewhat similar to Charlotte!) has been with him for eleven years.

Why do i cry everytime i see this scene??🤣🤣🤣💓💓 i can watch it over and over again and i would cry again and again, it represents true love💓💓

Exactly! Charlotte made so many sacrifices for him, and he didn't even seem grateful or happy. She was right to get upset. Also, I find it very manipulative that he pursued her first, only to tell her that he could only marry someone from his faith. Why did he date a non-Jewish woman then? It's pretty dumb to start dating someone when you already know that you won't be allowed to marry them.

One of my all-time fav SATC scenes.

I do love that these two got back together, but I never liked that Charlotte had to express a willingness to let go of her desire to get married to get Harry back. That wasn't the issue that caused them to break up. They broke up, because she felt underappreciated after the hoops she jumped through to eventually marry Harry (converting to Judaism)--which I think very naturally caused an added sense of impatience--and for her shallow attitude when it came to Harry's looks and their image as a couple. I think it would have been stronger to simply have Charlotte say that she would be lucky and proud to be with Harry for all who he is and the type of woman she strives to be just as worthy of him as he is of her.

And this is where charlotte learned her lesson.

"Out of all the synagogues in all the cities, you had to walk into mine." He is a true romantic!

I found Charlotte the most annoying character among the four. But she had the most development when the show ended, especially after her divorce.

I cry happy tears EVERY TIME I watch this scene. My favorite TV couple next to Eleanor & Cyrus on Gossip Girl.
