This scene shows how toxic a character Big was. He kept pulling Carrie towards him whenever he wished to and then when being with Carrie was not good enough for him, he shoved the door on her face. One of the worst love stories ever.

To be honest, I don't particularly enjoy hearing the same story three times in a few weeks either

I don’t understand why Carrie is being hated on here? When you’re single and continually in failed relationships, having to hear your friend and new partners story of “how they met” becomes eye rollable. Carrie even stated she had heard it 3 times already, and no doubt several more by Charlotte alone. On top of that she’s stuck on a boat with a man who married another woman after a few months after stringing Carrie along for AGES. I think she handled this all quite well?? Not sure what you’re all expecting. Where was Miranda and Samantha?? Least Carrie actually made the effort to be on the boat in the first place, with no date and basically no friends, aimlessly having to walk around some boat and have one of her best friends happiness shoved down her throat. I don’t know what planet some of you people are on 🤣

Imho, I think a lot of the INTOLERANCE some viewers have with Carrie is that we’ve all matured since the induction of this show and have come to the point in life where we realize just how awful of a person she is. When watching this show in my 20s, she seemed like just a single female trying to navigate through dating life. Now that I’ve had relationships, been married (a long time) and have seen other “Carrie’s” irl, lol I realize she’s just terribly self centered, full of herself and can’t be bothered to be nice. Everything must be about her. Period. If it’s not, shes extraordinarily dramatic and tantrums. The character of Carrie is that one girl we use to know when we were young and faded into “mean old cat lady” in adulthood.

@@mauia88 Chill out, I'm a millennial, too. Younger people are the ones making analyses, think pieces, and see the show from a current lense. We idealized it and the characters when we were younger and now see it differently because the circumstances our generation lives isn't the same as what we saw 20 years ago. You also tell by the immature, judgemental tone and the language used. There's a lot of buzzwords thrown around (i.e. toxic, narcissist, gaslight, abusive) to the point they're overused. The viewers who bash Carrie do it as if they're stuck on the first 3, 4 seasons, as if they're just now watching into the show (whether some of them are or not). A lot of us (again, because it's my generation,too) it seems are just now processing SATC and how it relates to the current climate. I feel like most older people have the maturity to see the show and characters for what they were and not take it so seriously, but that's just my opinion, and I could be wrong and I'm open to being wrong

This is similar to the first episode, when Carrie sees Big at a party, she's got her mouth full of food, and a "puff" on a toothpick, and someone bumps into her, pushing her in to Big..... Just like in this scene
