Chaos at Mauritania - Senegal land border |S7 - E25|

In this episode, I am doing a monster ride from Tidjikja in Mauritania all the way to Saint Louis in Senegal. 700 kilometers AND a border crossing! The reason for this crazy day is that I barely have any cash left and there are no ATMs in this part of Mauritania, and on top of that, once in Senegal I only get 48 hours to have my motorcycle papers stamped in Dakar. So... prepare for a monster day..

That's what ALL Moroccans say. It's so annoying when I was there the amount of PR spin everyone would tell me- it's like bro, I didn't even say anything yet, I'm already IN your country, and you're trying to sell me on your country. Like, WHY? The fact is, it's an EXTREMELY economically unequal society, where adults send their kids to beg on the street (a common sight), and the wealthy and elite live it up on the "other side of town." Instead of forcing a narrative, why don't you work towards a better society for all? Stop being blind to social and economic injustices. Doesn't it BOTHER YOU?

There is good and bad in every community, living in a predominantly muslim neighborhood/cities I've experiences both sides to the point I hope to leave. Bad apples exist everywhere sadly and it depends mostly on the cultures of the people not just their religion hence why I personally mesh far better with muslims from some countries than other in the west

Those oasis towns are so interesting, but that last town, Bogue, by the border, was intense! I’m amazed by how chill everyone is, and how unaffected they were by your being “foreign”. That group of fellows where they bought you some bread is a perfect example of how connected we all are. They don’t care about your religion, politics, your ‘orientation’ , or how much money you may or may not have. Just basic human kindness, and respect for a lady. As always, thanks for the ride-along!

It never ceases to amaze us that you find and are able to show us beautiful people, no matter where you are. It is also a lesson for all of us that people are people are the same no matter where they are. We all inhabit this small sphere and need to acknowledge that we are all in this great experience together. Too bad that the ones who need to hear and learn this will never see this. Keep up the beautiful journey and be safe, We love you Noraly. 💙

I've been lucky to travel a lot when I was in the military and I've found if you are happy to be in the country you are in, and you show that to the host country, and follow their rules, not ours, they are very welcoming. I am so glad you are showing how wonderful people are around the world.

My personal favourite is the one she was closest to where I live. Jasper Alberta Canada. Ive been watching her for years and to see her in my back yard was awesome. Too bad she couldn’t use the drone in the national park.

That scene of you threading your way among market stalls was reminiscent of a Bond movie, minus the bit about jumping from rooftop to rooftop (plus bad guys in helicopters).

It has always been interesting to me that there is a lot of difference between the two neighboring countries in terms of climate and nature Mauritania is an Arab country and the Sahara and Senegal are completely different

Hahaha ! Loved ur expressions while pronouncing some tough foreign words … bless you. One thing for sure , along the way Noraly is going to turn into a linguist par excellence. In this episode , we watch you ride into wilderness through very rural area of Mauritania. There are hardly any modern shops or stores or Gas stations for that matter. But nothing seems to deter you Noraly which highlights your perseverance. Local folks are simply very sweet and kindhearted. They take pride in helping out the visitors it seems. God bless them. The border town seems really chaotic unlike what Noraly thought it wud be. And Noraly , you ended this episode at a very crucial juncture - tricky border crossing . Naughty you … we were readying ourselves for “ Welcome to Senegal “ exclamation. Anyways, good luck to you Itchy Boots , hope this crossing is hassle free.
