Interesting upcoming stuff, I'll be interested in how well the MAF sensor picks up some bad valve issues, seems much easier for quick testing.

The cranking captures I've done are a bit more interesting, I think it will add some value to a diagnosis.

Mr.Carter I use this method on diesel injectors. You can throw in a noise probe to aid with misfires. Also question with the pressure transducer case study. If I'm seeing a variation in compression towers and an old school vacuum guage is stating late ignition timing. What do you think I should look at? I checked the timing, VVT solenoid is new, IAC valve is new? Kinda stumped with this head scratcher

If the towers are varying from peak to peak you could have a leak, if the cylinder is sealed good, id be asking where is the extra volume coming from? Or why is the volume changing? Do other cylinders exhibit the same issue?
