Changing the Bucket on 1970s Backhoe
Finally switching over to a larger bucket on my old backhoe. This is the first time switching the buckets over and I'm not sure if the pins are seized or not!

Thank for sharing , 👍👍👍👍
Hello from the Netherlands Kleeman Family . thanks for the video Mike . Sincerely Hollandduck
Doing good work on the old girl. I was looking back at the old videos and I could swear Clinton gave toy a 3 year 3600 hour warranty 🤣
Love the channel. I really like the chatter, it's like I am there. Really NICE!

Nice looking cribbing bucket.
Lovin these shorter quick job or task videos. No doubt having a second set of hands to swap pin on buckets is helpful though if ypu do it enpugh you get the hang of where the stick needs to be. Look forward to the Stump bucket build 😁👍
Best when we design what we need.😊
Captain Kleeman is the Wacko Warner of Derby in my mind 😊 He has legit skills and gets the job done, but he comes across as the accident prone one. Love how Caprain Kleeman verbalizes what he is thinking.
Captain you’ll make the best stump ripper! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
You could easily knock the bushing out of the hole above where you put the pin in, and use that bushing in the hole with the broken bushing. Once you egg the hole, that will not work any more...Love that old machine

loved the outtr... 😂
Awesome. Good morning
And it you get a skidsteer quick change for the front as well, which I know you would like to do the 555 it will be even more awesome. Just imagine though the possibilities if you could fix tracks to it, it would be a go anywhere 555 and you wouldn't have to worry about getting stuck. Sorry getting carried away, but if there is a retro fit track company that wants to support a hard worker fella, I'm sure the Captain would be very grateful. 😎🤗👍
Your the man.kudos.👍👍👍😎😎👍👨🚒👨🚒👨🚒
As for the stumping bucket, I'd just ream / redrill out the bushing to fit the pin on your machine.. don't destroy the 24 bucket unless need be..

I wouldn't use it for the stump bucket, v More likely the quick attach
I see someone posted a comment about the bucket pins, but the ones on my backhoe (a Kubota) are dry too, as they don't have grease fittings (the only pins on the machine that don't have grease fittings). Seems silly, explanation I got when it was that grease attracts grit, and more grit means more wear than dry metal on metal. The advantage I have now, after using it for 14 years, is that if I see a rattlesnake while digging, I can rattle back at it🤪. Thanks for posting these videos so early, it gives me something to do waiting for daylight. Take care.

My baby Kubota backhoe has grease fittings… the dealer told me to grease it every four hours and make sure you put enough in to chase the grit out. So, I pump until the grease comes out red… messy but effective.
hahahahahaha you always make my day. your video's are great to watch, something about a crock wearing man with a halo just seems funny. also can see alot of more video's coming in the future about buckets.
Awesome video as always. Keep up the good work
you have the sandbox many want. I like the mid conversation endings.
😅 cut in mid sentence! Good video, Kleeman. 👍
The slop in the bucket is just a “built in grade floatation” just like the new AMI Ruckus Rake
yes ! We hope too !
Awesome haul Mike. That stumping bucket will be a great addition to your collection. Thanks for sharing. Keep um coming!
Looks like that bucket came from (insert state or place name here) because anywhere else it would have had more than 1 tooth. 😉 I sure wouldn’t have guessed the hardest part of removing those pins was going to be removing the keeper pin.
You got lucky with the pins could have been a all day task nice the 555 sure sound great 👋👍🇨🇦
Great little video, Can hardly wait to see what new adventures are gonna happen with those buckets!
Pretty cool video thanks Mike time to make some parts bushings
Looks at the stumps bucket that Letsdig18 uses!
Ah, bucket changing the original way !!! 😁 That is the way I was taught too, and the way Digginok (Frank Cunnigham) does it too 😎💪 The stumper will be a good project for you in the shade tree workshop !!! Have to say, you nailed the end again !!! 🤣
You've been hanging out with Mike ( DP ) to much!!!! ❤️📹👍🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love the work crocks bud
Always, spray, and penetrate, let the oil do your work for you. Clean your pins, nothing slides better than a clean pin with lubricant on it. Clean your holes out, lubricate, Soooo much easier. Looks as if you put your snaggle tooth on that bucket, you've got her made. Good luck, and like you always do, have fun. Prime example: don't get mad when things aren't working, change the way your thinking, take a different approach.

Mike i like your crocks, and i have been to the Philippines and there they ware open flip flops as safety shoes 😂, and steel caps don't always protect your feet,i was wearing them when something fell on my foot and broke 2 toes. great video, thanks for sharing 👏👏👏👍👍👍👌

Did you ever think about what would’ve happened to your feet if you weren’t wearing steel caps? You at least still have your toes.
If you want a pic of a stump bucket, watch Letsdig18.. he has one that he uses often that you can use for reference...yes it's on his Volvo 220.. but it's still a stumper...
Mike, as always another great video. Thank you
Maybe the bushing on the other hole would replace the broken bushing in the one you are using there Captain !
Let's dig 18's stumper attachment seems to work awesome, take a look at that one for inspiration.
I love home built attachments. Clint has an awesome Homemade Line Bore tool maybe you can borrow it to fix your bucket up and enlarge the holes on the stump bucket.
HEY MIKE , CHRIS AT LET'S DIG 18 HAS ONE WHICH HE USES A LOT . MAYBE SOME IDEAS .👍
👍🏻👍🏻

Who has more fun, us watching or you guessing what the comments are going to say with a big grin?🙄😁
I can see you using that stump bucket like dp’s tile ripping bucket. I would just get new ears made for the stump bucket and not wreck the 24 inch one. You can never have too many buckets
That 30" bucket looks like mosquito nursery. Just sayin'😉😉 Liking the new channel.👏
I could see no grease on the pins or grease’s fitting? I would check out the Ford. All could use some lubricant. Every time I see it running wow 🤩 it’s amazing the value of the work it’s putting out.
Was digging stumps with my little bobcat 753 with 910 backhoe attachment and was thinking a root ripper would be nice to have on my little trenching bucket.
that bucket tooth is that an ICE tooth just asking is all but i would imagine it would do well on a stump bucket as you say any way have a good one Cheers mate a bit further in on your video you are asking about stump bucket i know the one LetDig 18 has is a ripper for its intended use dinging stumps out go check it out mate
Halo🤣your good, but not that good (yet) all the best 👍🐝🌞
Why yes it is a halo! 😁👌👌
Looks like your pins could use a bit(lot) more grease. It makes changing buckets a bit easier. Just saying from experience.

Hi Captain-I finally found your other channel. I was wondering why you didn't grease those pins. 🤷♂
I bet if you put some grease on these pins they would slide in easily

Looks like that machine has suffered from too much grease syndrome in the past. I think a home made quick hitch is doable.
Are they steel toed crocs
Perhaps you should consider trying to find someone with a line boring/welding machine and try and work out some sort of barter or not As always enjoyed your video PS KZread unsubscribed from your channel again so perhaps you may make a check to make sure you are subscribed announcement

Have you heard about the movie idiocracy. A great watch about the theory that people are getting stupider as time goes on. The costume director wanted everyone in the future to wear the same stupid looking shoes. They found a startup company that they were sure would fail and would never be successful. And crocks were introduced to the big screen. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas, and videos. Wishing you and your family the best.
Lol I love crocks and get comments all the time on my friend’s you tube channel!!! Ask me if I care!!

Want to sell me that 24 inch bucket?
Hey mike take that twenty four inch Bucket cut the teeth off I wouldn't make it a smooth bucket
Hey Mike who's watching your video on you swapping your buckets and I noticed that your backhoe is a extend-a-hoe. Meaning the outer stick the one that the buckets attaches to. I just noticed you haven't tried that or I don't not sure if you know that that does that just want to let you know that can get an extra four feet or so of stick
@Crewsy
Жыл бұрын
He knows it’s an extend-a-hoe. I’m not sure why he’s not using it but it might have something to do with the hydraulic hoses for it.
Great video, however every time I see you hit a pin with a sledge hammer I cringe…please use a pc of brass..the sledge only peens over the pin…also a little grease would go a long way to helping get the pin out next time…the bushing…not replacing the warm out bushing only kicks the next problem down the road…new bushing makes the bucket easier to use and reduces wear… I enjoy your videos…but you cane be a red neck all the time.
