Hello there!
I am always looking to make my dialogue with instruments more effective, and for my improvisation setup I realized I needed a more straightforward way to create sequences, mix and record them.
Oxi One start feeling to me like the best sequencer around for what I want to do, the Vermona Perfourmer MK2 is still my synth of choice.
Teenage Engineering sent me a TX6 and this little thing can really do wonders for a setup like this one ( they updated the firmware after I shot this video, now it also record on USB Stick, which is game changer).
I added the OP1 Field to have a live instrument to play and using the OB4 as a portable speaker when I am not in studio.
Hologram Microcosm and Empress Ecosystem are the effects I chose today, but I will rotate with other units ( love to mess with pedals!).
Enjoy!

Hi Oora, Thank you for posting this interesting video! I learnt some new things from watching it. I especially appreciate the visual order you have, which makes your setup so beautiful. May I ask, the mixer TX-6 seems incredible, but realistically, I suppose it will be tricky to use reliably in a live situation with menu-diving and quite small controls? Thank you, Hugo

  • @OoraMusic

If you need to tweak a lot yes, too small. But now it has midi cc for any control, so you can use an external controller. Basically you have a mixer, sound card, recorder in a pocket, and you can hook up a controller if you need a better hands on situation.

OB-4-I just got one! I stuck a stereo mic up to it last night and recorded the previous night’s solo jam, which was recorded to the OB-4 memory because I used it as an amp or monitor speakers (I just had to rewind it for awhile, before recording). 😊 I love the looping and tape “scratching”, remix-in-a-boombox features, and also the Ambient reverbs!!

@@iancottell3621 Good question. I’ve not experienced latency with line-in real-time input on OB-4, to my knowledge (having not scientifically tested for this); I had experienced such latency with line-in on a UE Boom speaker years ago, which led me to acquire an iLoud and more recently an OB-4. Granted, there are several features on OB-4 that can introduce latency-other than Bluetooth, which obviously does so-including if either playback speed is .9x or lower, or if the tape dial is used to rewind the live audio-either of these will switch to playing from the memory (potentially even

Hi ! What did you think of the TX-6 synth engine ? I don’t know I TE takes your suggestions, but I would love if we could use synth and mixer both at the same time (as a shift mode) and get thoses on separate channels on audiointerface. Also, I’ve saw you back with Model 1 on Patreon. Performing with TX-6 is not the best, but did you see the new midi implentation (it was what make me get one !) Now I use faderfox to midi CC it in live setup 👌 so frustrating that midi implentation cover synth too but you can’t get separate channel for it ^^

@@OoraMusic I can see you really enjoying that part of it (it’s a big part of its feature set). As it’s midi clocked, I imagine you might use it like you use your octatracks live sample features…(to sample a phase, manipulate it, and be able to swap back between that recorded part and what’s playing live on your synth via your mixer). Also - You can not only place its internal effects pre looper, but you can route them post looper so your loop (with the recorded effects ‘baked in’) then gets further effected again on top)… you can also then further time stretch the loop (to slow or speed up the entire thing). I’d love to see you incorporate it into a video :)

Would love to know what cables you're using for the TX-6. I just got the email that TE is back in stock but id like to find some alternatives before I purchase from them. Thanks. The update is also great, just wished my op-1 field's endless sequencer would control the synth. As of now, you have to use the COM-> CTRL to send midi notes to the TX-6 correctly. The OP-1 works with everything else fine without having to be in MIDI CTRL MOde. Anyways, the TX-6 is great, I love touching it:)
