(0:42) An element is a substance made up of only one kind of atom.Oxygen, carbon, mercury, (0:53) iron and silver are examples of elements. A molecule is made of two or more atoms. (1:03) Groups of elements are classified into two groups.They are metal and non-metal. Gold, (1:13) iron and silver are metals. Sulfur are non-metals.(1:19) Then our next topic is what are physical changes in matter? (1:24) A physical change is a change that does not make a new substance, (1:28) like cutting paper is a physical change. A change of state is when matter changes (1:35) from one state to another. It can go from a solid to a liquid or from a liquid to a gas.
(1:43) State of matter. There are three states of matter, solid, liquid and gaseous. (1:51) A change of state happens when matter changes from one state to another, (1:56) like adding or taking away heat changes the state of matter.For example, a solid melts into a (2:05) liquid if it is heated enough.
