Change Arrma 4s Mojave Kraton Outcast Center Diff Fluid to 1 Million

In this episode I show how to change out the center diff fluid in Arrma part #ARA311165 for the Mojave 4s, Outcast 4s and Kraton 4s.
This makes a huge diff (pun intended) in reducing front tire ballooning.

    New subscriber here. I recently got myself a mojave 4s too. That's how I found your channel. I enjoy your videos. Not full of fast paced adhd style music and editing. After seeing the result of changing the center diff fluid, I'm sold. Going to 1mill myself next time I have it opened. Thank you.

    Happy to hear that. Sorry to bother you with another question. Do you feel like the springs could be harder? With my 6800mA pack it sags a lot. I know it's supposed to and all that, but scraping the gravel all the time? I changed the shock fluids and it made an improvement, but I think it would benefit from a sliiiightly header springs. Hello! under no circumstances should the diff seal be touched by the oil in the differential in order for it to seal properly, the best method is, in my opinion, to weigh the differential once you have found a correct setting of it with enough oil and when you want to change the oil to use the same amount of oil, and something else, I saw that you took care of the same o-ring not to put them in the cleaning solution, but I think you should also take care of the bearing in the central shaft, if the bearing remains dry and you force diff destroys everything

  • @bigbristv

    Thanks for the tip. But I believe there is really no way around the seals getting diff oil on them unless the shims seal them out which I doubt highly. Those seals do get diff fluid on them and it's OK. Since I'm not racing or anything under no circumstances will I weigh diff fluids 😅. Take care and thanks again!

    @bigbristv thanks. I was looking for a while. Thanks to your video I just changed my center diff to 1 mil too. How does it handle now with the 1mil? Also I keep reading people using red n tacky grease on the "oitside" does that mean they are greasing thr pinion and spur gear?

  • @bigbristv

    @bigbristv

    4 ай бұрын

    @LegendsPizzaCo never grease your spur and pinion. The module is pretty sealed so dirt doesn't get in easily. The red n tacky they're using on the front and rear diff's crown and input gear teeth.

    @bigbristv perfect this makes sense now. I was looking at my center diff only so far. Haven't touched the front or rear. When I opened the diff case tbe spur and pinion were dry so I assumed no grease needed there so I was confused on where they were using these greases. Now I have to look at my front and rear diffs and see where to use the grease. What weight did you use on the front and back. I was gonna do 30k in front. 1mil center. And 20k rear. And yes we have amazing pizza. If you're ever in the bay area I got you

    Use non chlorinated brake cleaner, put your "grease" in a syringe with a model car fine glue to go make this a little cleaner and easier, imho

    Question: with it wheeling like that with front up in the air is it even drivable? How do you do fast driving and turning with the wheels off ground everytime you pin the throttle? Wouldn’t it be better to have to front tires against the ground under maximum throttle?

  • @bigbristv

    @bigbristv

    2 ай бұрын

    Theoretically, yes. Having the front wheels on the ground would facilitate turning. But who needs to turn? Right? 😂
