    Yes. The only advantage a slipper clutch has is cost for the manufacturer. Pretty much everything else goes to the center differential.

    I predicted they would release basically this exact thing (albeit not from a new car, just as an optional upgrade for the pre-Mojave 4S lineup) so I'm pretty stoked to see it fits. I've got a Kraton 4S that I'm definitely dropping this thing into.

    Yeah it's possible They will release a several one that doesn't require any modifications but as it stands right now unless I really missed something which I don't think I did I don't think that this module will ever be officially compatible since the chassis needs a little bit of modification to fit well.

    the option to adjust the distance from the pinion through those holes is that without the rear cover the differential does not sit straight and you can adjust the distance incorrectly, so if you put the cover on it is something else and tighten the screws from the engine through those holes and check the distance from the pinion audibly

    Hello! do you really think there is 10 million cst oil in this diff? or did I not understand well? I've finished putting the power module on an Outcast 4s v2 and it seems to me that it inflates the hubs too much on the front, it actually works better but I think it needs a little thicker oil, but on the other hand I'm a little afraid not to force the planetary gears or the central axis...thanks once again

  • @DoRC

    @DoRC

    I'm not entirely sure what weight fluid is in there. It might be thinner than that. I wouldn't worry about over stressing the internal gears. I have put pretty thick stuff in quite a few differentials and I've never had a negative outcome because of it. I'd recommend putting a little bit of silicone ear plug in there and see how that works. It'll nearly lock up the center differential but will still give you enough give to protect the drivetrain.

    No the fit is pretty much the same as with the 3S ones. When they're brand new they all come out pretty easily. It becomes more difficult as soon as any grit gets in the dovetails. None of them are designed to be a friction fit from the factory though. They're supposed to be held in by the little block that sits in front of them and the latch at the top. It will be interesting to see if they update the other chassis to be compatible.

    As a noob….what’s the benefit of doing this?

  • @DoRC

    @DoRC

    8 ай бұрын

    There are two main advantages to a center differential. The first one is the allows you to adjust the fluid in that center differential to tune how the truck behaves. If you run thinner central differential fluid under heavy acceleration the truck will be less likely to wheelie because power will be allowed to bleed off to the front tires. The second and more important benefit is that it allows energy to dissipate through the drivetrain. For example without If you land a jump on just the back wheels when those wheels start to spin up or slow down the entire drivetrain has to take all of that inertia because it's all locked together. A centric differential decouples the front from the rear so that those loads can be dissipated so it really helps save the drivetrain.
