CHANEL NO 5 Perfume | CAN MEN WEAR IT?
Ойын-сауық
Chanel No 5 perfume has always been marketed toward women ever since 1921. But can this Chanel perfume be worn by men as well? I would say that this perfume can be worn by both genders due to its unique aromatic profile.

as a man, when i wear this its very clean and elegant with my skin chemistry it is more woody on my skin, just imagine white florals and vanilla blooming out asymmetrically out of a tree I appreciate this on me with elegance
I'm male and wear No.5 - absolutely adore this fragrance! Loving the EDT at present and its clean soapy scent 😍

Same here. I was shocked at how much I loved it, and have no problem wearing it myself. I have the EdP and pure parfum, both of which are gorgeous and entirely unisex to my nose.
I can say that many perfumes are totally female or male. Some really have no possibility of being considered unisex. However, Chanel N5 is so perfectly blended that depending on the chemistry of the wearer it reacts in a wonderful way. My dad used to steal it from my mom and he smelled amazingly! I began wearing it 10 years ago and to my surprise and delight I smell totally different than either dad or mum. The base notes are what we can consider typically male and on my skin top and middle notes last almost nothing before blending into the gorgeous base notes. So far no one has recognized it when I wear it. That comes to show that N5 has a “magic” formula that works like very few. I adore it as well as the newest versions like L’Eau and Premiere. Lovely and very interesting video by the way!

Chanel No 5 really is one of those special fragrances. Thanks for watching!
I'm a 37 years old guy and just bought Rochas Femme 🎉
I'm male and I use it because it's made from French ROSES, SO IT'S GOOD FOR GOOD LUCK, FOR ME IT'S AN ESOTERIC FRAGRANCE
Really love your videos and takes on perfumes! I’m a man and find Chanel No 5 to be perfectly unisex as well. In fact, I find the German classic Tabac Original EDC to be similar to No 5, but instead of jasmine and ylang ylang, it has a floral carnation (not a sharp one like in Jovan Musk Men imo). It also doesn’t have civet. But the profile is similar. Look forward to your next videos!

Glad you liked it!
Yes - but for men I would personally caution against the current EDP which pushes the florals forward too much for my taste and is a relatively modern re-working of the old formula that does change the balance compared to the older versions. My favourite is the vintage Eau de Cologne, in which the florals play second fiddle with more of a bergamot cologne opening with the stunning base and the real civet far more in evidence. As you point out the base of No 5 is essentially the same as most men's fragrances, it's perhaps only the aldehyde overdose, ylang ylang and jasmine which push it into the "female" territory.
Loving this video big time 🙂 I am a guy and wearing Chanel No.5 (Pure Parfum) right now. In addition to that, I love-love-love the original Coco in all it’s concentrations. I am a man that lifts weights and trains others in physical fitness. I don’t think that those things are “more manly”; but I do believe they are more brash or hard in character. I like for fragrances to bring balance. In other words, I don’t need a stereotypical masculine fragrance that would simply highlight my attributes, which are physically seen. At times I prefer to wear softer more stereo typically feminine fragrances that help to bring softness to the hardness of my profession and physical attributes. In other words, from the perspective of the senses, I get to be the personification of gentleman… the ability to exude and harness both fierceness and gentleness. Fragrances like Coco and No.5 are a constant personal reminder that balance is key.

Love your note thus us great !
You mentioned how there are "womens" perfumes that have masculine notes. Thats an issue ive seen in just about every part of the fashion world. When it comes to women, nobody really cares what they wear or how they wear it, whether its marketed towards women or marketed towards men. But when it comes to men, so many people act as if there are only a few specific things a man is allowed to wear and treat it as blasphemy if a man wears something that was marketed for women even if it works well. Like how they may compliment a man for wearing chanel no 5 until they find out its a "womens" perfume, then they'll change their mind.
I wear Eau de toilette ONLY. it's gorgeous.
I wear No 19 and have done since I was 18 in 1987, I am a male. I used to wear Limara Body Spray, when it existed in the 80s, impulse Jenusse the lot. I have never worn men’s fragrance never liked it, I may as well wear toilet cleaner or for a change bleach. Would never wear men’s ever.

No. 19's marketing or total lack of marketing is a complete disaster in this day and age, it's one of the most clearly unisex of the Chanel classics, and one of their finest compositions. It's in desperate need of a total relaunch as a universal fragrance, which it always has been for those in the know. The vintage EDT is the best of the bunch
As a dude, no. 5 EdT falls somewhere between my Tabac shaving soap and Cartier Declaration d’Un Soir Intense. It’s lighter and more polite than both of these actually. So yeah, totally wearable for me
Watching a review about a perfume that you repurchased like 5 times, just to make sure it’s still in style. 😂 thank you all the love from Dubai 🙏🏼
