Great review Stephen. I have had this fragrance for months now, and I have to say that while I agree it is not the most original scent, I prefer this one to the original CH Men. I think it's a bit deeper and smoother and suits me more than CH Men, which I like but don't love. This fragrance also gets me some serious compliments.

What a coincidence, I have been testing Carolina Herrera fragrances for a while now and this one was my latest acquisition. I would have to agree, the opening smells very boozy; like whiskey to me, but the overall scent is not as sweet as the original is, and it definitely has its own personality. Great review as usual. Enjoyed the straight to the point review! Bought CH Men Prive on a blind buy, saw varying reviews that were mostly positive so I gave it a try. First spray: Bitter citrus & lavender explode into vanilla & spice which concluded to tonka & leather. Not as boozy as some say imo. My skin gives off the gourmand sweet notes when used. Use lightly on cold days at work, add an extra spray or two on a night out. Criticism: Could last longer. Also missing that "oomph" to make it classic. 8/10 for me. Try it!

when i first sprayed it on to my wrist i thought it was quite strong but after about 5 or 10 minutes it settles really well and there are some very pleasant & subtle notes, primarily musk with a hint of vanilla. I don't think it projects very far but in my opinion that's good since you dont want the air around you reeking of cologne, even one as nice as this.

Just wanted to say the serial # is etched on the lower back of the bottle. Not on the sticker on the bottom. I was checking to see if my bottle was fake. Great review!

Good and comprehensive review

love this one. Picked it up on first sniff at duty free. I love the fact it's boozy, leathery and spicy but for me at the same time fresh - so pretty versatile in my opinion. Its the first in the line I've smelt so maybe I should now check out the original.

Bro your videos are amazing, great voice and I also love how you dress. Your knowledge about perfumes is amazing, very informative and educational. Get a 4k camera, your content is amazing! Should be recorded at least at 4K and put your tripod couple of inches higher so you don’t look down to the camera.

Just bought this in Lanzarote. Have to say I love it.. Fantastic review once again...

Great review. If you compare it with the original i agree that it doesn't have the magic factor like CH Men. It's just a very pleasant boozy fragrance that's comparable with Pure Malt and La Nuit. It's more in that league than the original CH Men. For winter CH Men prive is one of my favorites.

I decided this is going to be my signature scent for the winter after getting a sample. I would like people to notice that I am wearing this wonderful fragrance but not be overpowering when someone sits next to me in the classroom. This one is great. I wouldn´t mention Eros with this one. The real competition for CH Man Prive is D&G The One EDP - both equally great smelling (CH Man Prive stronger and more spicy). And I must say I like it more than the original due to the drydown of which a small part strangely reminds me of a pea :O

Redolessence does the leather in this smell anything like that leather in the ch for men the reformulated version if you have smelled that one... I have the reformulated version, but I do not like it at all because of that strong leather note ( animalic I guess it's called ) I'd appreciate it if you could respond as soon as you can, thinking about getting it tomorrow, well today.... thanks!

I would say that they are comparable in terms of the boozy smell and the performance.

One thing we hate about fragrance reviews is not going into the POINT. There are lots of wasteful part that tend to make us fragrance freak bore. Go straight what the fragrance has to offer, and bam! That's it.

Where do you buy your fragrances from? I’ve purchased 2 from fragrencenet . One was used and one was watered down .

You nailed the review iMO...it's nice, but the original is much better. I have done multiple sniff tests with the ladies and the original CH Men always beats-out the flankers. Privee ties for a distant second with Grand Tour with Africa and Sport bringing up the rear. The only reason I wear CH Men is because the ladies love it. So why would anyone wear one of the flakers when the original does it so much better. CH Men Privee is a nice fragrance, but it has been over-hyped IMO.

I get only about 5.5-6 hours with this, even with a moisturizer.

You should do a Carolina Herrera update with a few diff fragrances.

Hey Steven, does cold temperatures effect cologne? I just bought a bottle of ch prive and walked around the city in 38 F degree weather afterwards for about 1-2 hours. Did I ruin the scent?

Js M All fragrances when unapplied prefer lower temperatures if you're looking at 'preserving' their original character; however, when applied, temperature is key in how the fragrance evolves and/or gets cloying. Whatever the case though, the only thing you may worry about in cold weather is lack of projection/strength/evolution.. many people store their fragrances in cold, dark places for the same reason.

Just got a 50 ml bottle in Saint Pete Russia for just 25 bucks. Don't care for the original, and between this and the grand tour, I chose this.

Just ordered a 100ml tester for $46 shipped. Hope it lives up to the hype. Just finished my YSL Nuit 1.7oz bottle. So, i'll welcome this into my collection. I wanted tom ford grey vetiver edt which was going to be my next purchase it will just be pushed back to a later date.

Smells like L'homme Ideal

I have used several bottles of original CH Men, and, I have to say it's a way, way better than Prive to me.

is it worth buying this one? I currently own Versace eros, La Nuit de L'homme EDP and Valentino Uomo Intense. Is it something different than the above three? Thanks for the advise :)

I don't think I would buy another CH fragrance. I was very let down by there original ch men. for the price, I think there are way better options on the market. Anyway, great review and you should check out Pegasus by Parfums de Marly. I heard it was a Reflection Man clone that killed Reflection Man in performance.

Pegasus isn't a close match to reflection man. I have both and it has a slight vibe of it. It does get get projection but only like 20 percent the same. In my opinion reflection man takes it over Pegasus but hey everyone has there own taste

A great scent with poor performance. Wondering if there is a better alternative with similar scent.
