    Hey Aaron, I am a senior in high school and I have loved fragrances for quite a while now. I respect you highly and I was wondering if you have any suggestions for someone who might want to become a perfumer when they are older? Because I am always thinking about fragrances and I thought, why not make a career out of it.

    I have it and I must agree with your review. I used to blind buy based on KZreadr reviews around three years ago. This was the perfume that put an end to any blind buy for 100ml full bottle. Now I sample first and buy later. Thanks for your content!

    Thank you, finally someone was honest about this fragrance, I bought a bottle on a whim because of discounted price a couple years ago and wore it all of about 3 times before getting rid of it, it is everything you say it is, a very under whelming scent that is way over hyped, love your reviews

    Always love your takes on popular designer fragrances Aaron. I think even when you don't like a fragrance, your intentions for making a video on it is good since you're basically saving us money in the process. I've started to sample before buying a fragrance for the same exact reason you didn't like this scent. Always good to test on skin and see how the scent dries down. The first one I'm gonna buy in this manner is Elie Saab Neroli no. 7. Probably not a natural Neroli but the best neroli fragrance I've ever smelled. Would love to hear your take on it since I know you're a big fan of Neroli.

  • @AaronTerenceHughes

    @AaronTerenceHughes

    @@AaronTerenceHughes Haha yup have been extra aware of the prices of fragrances ever since I started watching your videos. They are like an inside look into the fragrance industry. I've already not been one to pay much attention to the brand names or the marketing spiel but after watching your reviews and breakdowns they simply don't matter all anymore. Especially ones that say '100% natural ingredients' lol. And at that cost, I think it's most likely not a natural Neroli. But I've always been a big fan of the perfumer (Francis Kurkdijan) and his work with synthetic Neroli. The Elie Saab retails for about $200 but I found it online heavily discounted for about $60 on Fragrancenet

So now I regret not getting a few bottles of the original batch. I hate when these companies sell a reformulation for whatever reason, its never for the better, always a complete let down.

    I usually don't want to compare batches, but when they released it the fragrance was different from what it is right now - a plain chemical mess. I bought mine in 2015 and when I compared it few months ago the newer batches made me puke. It was unbearable and I just wanted it off my hand asap, but had to bear it for the test. There's also a projection and performance difference. A huge one. The older one lasts me over 12+ hours since day one and the new one only lasted for about 6 and it was very soft after 30-40 minutes. Not sure as to why, but what more to expect from a designer company. That's the marketing, sell quality and name initially to lure people in, then reduce the quality gradually. Thanks for the review!

    I totally agree with him. designer houses used to do a good job in the past with a better quality in terms of longevity and the materials they used to do, And now it's just commercial with less quality, Not all of them of course but most of them.

    Yeah, it seems that what's a niche fragrance nowadays would have just been a designer release back in the '80s, just as an artisanal pair of selvage jeans retailing for $250 today would have just been a regular pair of Levis 70 years ago.

    There had been a lot of community hype regarding CH Men Privé, so I tested this at duty free. I was immediately repulsed with this weird synthetic scent and rushed to the bathroom to wash off, couldn't bear the thought of 9 hours in a confined plane environment with this smell. The user comments are interesting, it's definitely a hit or miss.

    The comments to these reviews are hilarious. I could tell what people would say before I even read them. Had u said it was good...I suspect the comments would be rather different. Green note in CH Men Prive? I have to wonder if u are reviewing the correct fragrance. Is there any guarantee the sample u review is actually the stated fragrance? Also, this review has me wondering if in fact the samples u are sent to review are genuine and if so whether they are properly stored fragrances and hence unspoilt. Not to say that CH Men Prive is the greatest fragrance in the world. Not at all. But a decent designer fragrance it is. What u describe (other than simply saying that it smells of aroma chemicals...which basically all designer fragrances are composed of...which really is not saying very much) just doesn't sound like the fragrance I spray from my Macy's purchased bottle...at all. That review and especially that green note and sourness u describe would sound more fitting of a poorly stored and 'turned' sample of the original CH Men...or maybe just a fake fragrance. One thing I will say about most CH fragrances is that they do not smell like every other designer fragrance out there and tend to have at least one distinctive note or accord that sets it apart despite sharing other similar notes...eg tonka or vanilla. Chic for men has the watermelon note, CH Men the unique grass, sugar, leather combo and CH Men Prive the distinctive boozey whisky accord. Having said all that...enjoyed the review as usual and await the next.

    I'm sick of boring shower gel smelling freshies. I'm like you I would rather smell of clean clothes. I always loved fragrances. I recently went out Oman for work and bought a load of beautiful Bakhoor and Frankincense. I love to burn it in my home. I remember being a young boy and always drifting of by myself to sniff the fragrances. But I remember one day being in Debenhams, and I went around sampling different men's fragrances. They all smelled so similar it was underwhelming, disappointing and left me unsatisfied. I'll never forget, I looked at the Ralph Lauren collection, Polo blue, green red etc. I thought ahh different colour bottles they must smell different to each other. I swear and I can still remember the smell. They smelled exactly the same. Like, what the F***! This was a good 15-odd years ago now but I think things are getting better. The niche and indie world is pushing the boundaries, and many designers are trying to catch up now because people want art not boring dull fragrances. Hopefully I can live to experience some great creations in the future. Your Arabica is amazing btw. 10/10 masterpiece, my favourite of your line. Shame it's being discontinued 😭. All the best Aaron ❤️
