How does a coach even say this? What does talent even mean in football? He's been one of the best defenders in the league (he arguably was the best defender in the league for a while), and he did it standing at 5'10" with no real physical prowess too. He's up there with the best signings of the last decade alongside the likes of Hazard and Kanté. Not just talented but skilled and the consummate professional.

@@RL- I think he’s trying to say like how he didn’t need to have the talent of a neymar or in defence a Maldini but his passion, hunger and work ethic was a massive factor along with his normal talent

DAVE : Captain, Leader & Legend.. next to John Terry. Deserves so much more respect than he gets. From playing as a winger - midfielder - right-back - left-back - right WB - right centre-back, he only missed out GK position. He may have slowed down cos' of age but he still gives his 100% and there's not much that he can't do.

This man is very underrated. ​Cuz he isn't Madrid or Barca player or British. Sadly media hyping van Dijk, TAA, Ruben Dias, Kyle Walker etc. but this man deserves more hype.

How can someone be 8 over ten most games in his prime and u say he doesn't have quality, van Dijk is younger and seems to be going down, at his age azpi was still giving an 8

The day he retires and comes back to Stamford to visit and the crowd starts singing his name, is the day we will all realize what a legend he really is for Chelsea and Football.

To be blessed with a captain like John Terry was incredible, to follow him up with such a first class man like Azpi is something we Chelsea fans won't truly appreciate until he's left. He quite literally lives, breathes and bleeds Chelsea Blue. When we finally get round to putting statues around Stamford Bridge he needs to be one of the first ones erected. God bless ya Dave XXX

Lucky azpi had clause on his contract that the contract will be automaticly extended when his appereance reach target in that clause otherwise he would join barcelona before season ended like rudiger and christensen
