Don't forget, very adaptable as well. Played under different managers, different systems, different team mates, and different positions. Him coming from Spain, not England, and captains the team. WHAT A LEGEND HE IS. I'm not a Chelsea fan, but can't argue what icon he has been for Chelsea and for football.

He had eleven years at Chelsea and he gave everything in every single one of them. Thanks for everything, Cesar. An absolute legend of the modern Chelsea era.

As an Arsenal fan all I can say is that I have the utmost respect for this legend. What a wonderful player and a wonderful bloke. He's been a staple of the EPL for over a decade, and I hope he continues to thrive in a new environment!

A man who came as a relative unknown and won it all - the final link to Drogba, Terry, Lampard, and Cech. There aren't too many players who give absolutely everything, but he is one of them. His dedication to the club has been phenomenal, a player who truly leads by example. This doesn't hurt as much as it feels like a natural and fitting end. But that doesn't make it any less sad to see him go. It has been amazing watching Azpi play for the last 11 years. A true legend of the club.

He managed to win pretty much everything, Prem twice, Europa League twice, champions league, FA Cup, EFL Cup, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup! It says a lot that the only (arguably) meaningful trophy he has never won for us (and as an English team) was the Community shield. Respect

I think you said it all what a professional azpi was know one trained as hard as this man even John Terry said this conducted himself so well on and off the pitch also with the fans true Chelsea legend gutted he's gone

I still remember a match where West Brom were 3-0 leading in the first half and azpi came in the second half, and took the captain's arm band. He literally changed the team's morale and we drew the match. Thank you Azpi. Legend

In his pomp he was amazing. Nobody could pass him. Legend. Proper Chelsea.

He won EVERYTHING......and EARNED his LEGENDARY status. Too many footballers these days have not done anything to earn the status they are looking for! LEGEND!!!!

This is the real definition of what a legend is. He worked hard, played on different positions, never complained, gave his everything for the club. I wish he ended his career at Chelsea, but I expect him to come back home once he's done with football. We love you Dave, and thanks for everything.

Sensational player. Even towards the end of his time at Chelsea you could see his passion. He'd fight for every ball and scream at fans, team mates and opposition. He gave his all. Wish him all the best.
