We're getting pretty close to a robot that can truly help around the house in a meaningful way. Walker while interesting is still the a fairly early beta version, but the frame work is absolutely fascinating. At the pace we are going it may only be 10 years before something close to a proper robot maid exist. By 20 years it will be near seamless. It will probably be 40 years before it's close to as smooth as a human though.

I like the idea and overall presentation. But there are two things I would change. 1 I didn’t appreciate how degrading the presenter was, this would give the idea that every command given is a competition to see who outranks who: roommates, kids, parents, etc in contrast to the robot. that idea could be psychologically damaging. This robot is meant to assist and be a part of the family rather than to compete against. Two the speed at which the tasks are completed. If the robot is designed primarily with elder care in mind, depending on the condition the elder in question could become very impatient with the robot. Having worked as a nursing assistant I can say that routine is key to the day to day care.

I think this robot is great but I think that usually the prices ar too high for normal people, for example I think that although Nao is an amazing funny robot I wouldn't pay 6000 or 8000 euros for it... if you want we can pay prices around 2500 - 6.000 euros, in a short future a robot should can help us with the dishwasher, washing machine, making the bed, etc... And I think this robot has the perfect way for that evolution (But in that price please, no more expensive). Regards,

@@xsuploader lol ASIMO costed millions of dollars because they started the development more than 20 years ago - technology was much more expensive back then - and they were "the first" at building such an advanced humanoid robot. Plus, ASIMO is much more fast and flexible in movements compared to this.

Unfortunately, as with virtually all other truly intelligent robots, it's too slow at performing basic actions. The time it took for the robot to walk over to the door, open it and get out of the way was far too long. Plus the time it took for it to get 1 can of coke and a pringles can and deliver it less than 10 feet away was also far too long, most people's kitchens aren't in thier living rooms... Imagine how long it would take in your own house. They mention it could be used for the elderly/disabled, imagine a situation where the robot is asked to bring medication in an emergency... the person would be dead before the robot had even found them. Great ideas and concepts that are proven to work BUT still lack usefulness in the real world.

God this is tragic. So far from usable! I don't understand why everyone insists on making them look like a human (walking, opening a doors, winking, dancing). I feel like you are building it to be a gimmick from day 1. The market is wide open for a useful home robot. One that vacuums, a mobile google home, carries useful things (tissues, sanitiser, cleaning products, plates of food, drinks etc), brings you a coffee at 7am, plays music, has a mounted tablet so you can watch netflix from any room. None of these require legs to work. This thing is useless.
