Also the "animatronics" starting at 2:30 are people in suits. Plus there are some clues that both the script and the narrator's voice are AI generated. So overall this is a bunch of stuff that seems convincing at first glance but the AI generated nature calls all of it into question.

There are videos online at Walt Disney World in Orlando that show with a guide (Disney employee) to small groups of people, they bring two of them out to demonstrate and interact with one customer during a 14 minute event. So they are being used on a limited basis now. Atlas by Boston Dynamics was retired just this week. Boston Dynamics is moving to a new model that is all electronic instead of hydraulic. So even Boston Dynamics is moving ahead now leaving hydraulics behind and moving to the electronic technology Disney is using.

Name some...* Ive been following Robotics for years now, at first I thought this was C.G.I, It moves and behaves so Well as to appear leaps and bounds above many other manufacturers... I think the only reason a lot of people are crapping on this robot is because they hate Disney for, In their subjective opinion, having 'ruined' star wars. Nothing to do with actual robotics. I hate Disney for many reasons, but this bot is objectivley impressive at what it does.

Well actuators and motors are basically from one brand. If you can fight it on the shelves it's cheaper. And plus when you're dealing with Star wars creations most of the stuff that they have, inside Star wars is off the shelf, when they go to the junkyard looking for parts it's off the shelf is just that it's just junk.

I am somehow reminded of both Bradbury's Veldt story and Chrichton's book Congo. This seems more about social learning than robot tourism and not intended to be confined to entertainment. Are 'experiential responders' being developed for disaster-event or other disturbed populations, or for pioneers/explorers who may or will be isolated for years? Form factor squick- offstage! Yes, humanity must become multiplanetary, but not at the expense of humanity! The person matters. That being said, space IS hard, and smart-dolls may reduce causation for malevolence.
