I just turned 40, but been diagnosed with arthritis for few years now. Symptoms are getting worse quickly. I been told that I may have spinal stenosis, I am afraid of aging because I know that it will only get worse. I am not a smoker or drinker, just a history of hard work, injury and stress accelerated the deterioration of my physical body.

Same but I am getting better. I am not a doctor. I noticed my posture was horrible and started paying attention to how I was standing or sitting. I watched a few too many videos and now I am saving up for a shikibuton and a kotatsu. I have the plans for a platform bed and I think there will be plenty of room for storage, or the dogs new nap spot.. its yet to be determined. Anyway you can check out world back injury rates and I will save you the trouble.In japan, most people sit on the floor, sometimes with flat cushions. The also sleep on the floor, with straw mats under something like a super thick quilt. I am going to give it a try. At least its less expensive than a 'good' mattress. It seems there is a learning curve to sitting on the floor. I had my neck get much worse but I think its getting much better now. Stretching is helping, I have trouble not overdoing it and spent a few bad says thinking my head might actually fall off. Atlas problems are scary.

One thing that seems to help a lot is range of motion stretching, real slow and easy still sounds like rice crispies. Feels weird too, sometimes bad sometimes good. I guess it spent a lot of years in the wrong spot so I don't push it

By your video about sciatica i have solved my over 2,5 year suffering. Also when i run about 7 km, my lower spine gets some kind of smooth and then i bend down i fill some kind of "cracking voices " and my spibe becomes flexible and strong again, For about 3 hours. Now i will try this axcersises for i have necknpein from my right shoulder, since i crushed down while skying in 2016.

Spondylosis and bone spurs are a bone remodeling disease. Some AS moves very quickly - a few years. It’s also related to Kibselia bacteria. Also being too thin can cause spondylosis. Since there is less support from muscles.

@@AkshdeepSinghoney Hello, I still have days where I’m in pain but things aren’t as bad as when I left this comment. The #1 thing I did was work on my posture since I work at a desk, in front of a computer and have a bad habit of slouching. I also started using electric heating pad whenever I feel the pain starting to flare up in my neck. I also sleep with a contoured neck pillow at night. These three things helped the most for me.

What about if it’s cervical? Thank you for these exercises though since I have it in both
Hi there Thankyou for your very helpful exercises but hope you can help explain something to me. I had an accident in 2008 and was never given a scan until early 2021 after yrs of complaining of debilitating pain and triggered migraines from the pain in my neck. Finally got my scan to find I had cervical spondylitis and degeneration to discs c4-c6. I struggle taking in deep breathes, sleeping and no pain relief works. I had yrs of physio but nothing. Can you possibly explain why I’m in this position or should I return to my doctors? Thankyou
Hello Doctor. I have been diagnosed with Cervical spondylitis so In addition to neck pains and my left arm pains. I also have recently developed a serious pain on my left leg. Could the CS be responsible for this and what should I do? Thanks
@DrRowe
4 жыл бұрын
The leg pain would not be directly caused by cervical issues. This would be most likely a lumbar (lower back) problem, such as a lumbar disc herniation. Get it checked out by your doctor or chiropractor, since this is a new issue and needs attention.

Hello doc, I was diagnosed with cervical spondolosis as I have pain that radiates to my left shoulder blade region , arm, elbow and pinky finger , I have pain that tingling sensation, am in my late 20s. Although my cervical X-ray and shoulder X-ray shows no abnormality,can you shed light in my situation.
Hi Dr Rowe, I am 66 and was extremely fit up to August 2022. In the last 10 years I was hit by cars twice while riding my push bike. These events caused multiple fractures and whiplash. As of last year my neck started to hurt a bit and over the last 8 months I have been getting worse and the pain is chronic. My pain management doctor keeps prescribing Nortriptyline which is not helping at all with the pain. He even increased the dose, but it isn't helping. The accident insurance won't cover physiotherapy or chiropractor. I have tried hot and cold packs, going for gentle walks, riding the exercise bike at home but I don't seem to improve. I told my doctor that I feel that I have cervical spondylosis and asked him to do new imaging but he replied that there is no need for imaging. The pain is also felt in my groin and feet. Since I am very inflamed, are these stretches safe to do? My neck is very stiff. Thank you.
