Very few hit it better than Maguire, he won't be intimidated by anyone. If he plays his best game he's a serious danger to anyone, such an aggressive player and very heavy scorer. He can be a bit of a bully on the table which you need against the likes of Trump, Ronnie, Higgins etc have to show them you aren't scared.

Murphy should have hid Maguire's chalk 😂😂

Funnily enough, the top side of the draw has opened nicely for Maguire to reach the final.He faces Gilbert,who s not actually a powerhouse,and I think he s a slightly favourite,and to be honest,he has more game and experience to overcome the Farmer and advance.And further on,he will face Wilson/Higgins/Allen.Against Higgins (in this current form) ,he s gonna be 50-50.Against Wilson,a slight underdog,and against Allen,an underdog,but wouldn t be far fetched to beat him in a best of 33.Also Allen doesn t do particularly well in Crucible,so I think he has a bigger chance than what his current odds are suggesting. And in an eventual final,well...u never know.He ll probably lose against O Sullivan or Trump (can t see anyone from the others to challenge the most inform payers of the season) ,but hey...it s the best chance he ll ever get to become world champion.Cheers

Great performance by Maguire but what goes through Murphy’s head at the BBC events that makes him feel he can take on every session of commentary and punditry then be in the right frame of mind to tackle the best players in the world? Just sheer folly but what can you expect from anyone that wears a sequinned suit and seems determined to prove he knows everything about everything?

Maguire forgot his chalk in a match about 20 years ago, he went to get it, while he was gone Murphy spoke to the referee and Maguire ends up being 1-0 down for not being ready to play.

Camera work is terrible this year. View of balls going in pockets on every single shot. It’s hard to watch. I don’t know who is in charge of this but I sent a complaint to the bbc. Snooker fans please do the same. I’m sure it only takes 30 or 40 complaints to make a change
