I honestly think darts in large competitions like this have the best fans, above any other. Dress up having a blast, drinks flowing and everyone happy out. ❤🇮🇪 Litter ❤ always play for the love of the game. Dont let anyone change you young man! Watched this on the PDC channel yesterday, the Austrian crowd were brilliant. Jonny Bryan's commentary is perfect for darts.

Austrians are really good crowds, really know how to salute and cheer

The most boss move of today was Luke putting his glass of water on the ground so Aquaman couldnt get it. Imagine that. Thats a message sent before a dart is thrown. The kid is iconic after 4 months. 3 Euro tour events. 2 wins. 14 games won. 1 lost......to the world no 1.

What a great crowd and a great winner

What an incredible crowd!

That last leg of the final sums up the last five months or so since Littler announced himself at the World Championship. There are no words to accurately describe the boy's talent.

I love that with Littler the studio director and camera operators never quite know where on the board to focus. He'll just ramp up a random (to us) three darts at the treble 18 for fun! Great shot to take that deciding leg with a bullseye.

I think people are going to start looking at the board differently. He shoots to his strengths and not traditional shots. He is equivalent to the home player who throws at T19 instead of T20 because they are flat out better at T19. Most people would be told to keep throwing at T20 and get better, but if Littler was in that position he would just throw at T19. Obviously at his skill level he’s not in that position but the point still stands.

Ross got to MVG mentally, too. Layed up the 161 and Michael's ego couldnt handle it. t17 bull bull? Bonkers.

Fascinating how Littler’s media/fans attention has seemingly nobbled MvG’s performance. He’s no longer the one the others worry about and has become very beatable very quickly.

There is a very good chance Luke the Nuke will be considered the single greatest player in history at some point. Very good chance.

Oh dear, he has to win a lot to get to that point. Yes, he’s only 17, absolutely. But winning at least 16 world championships, 16 world matchplays and around 300 other titles just to equal Taylor is a hell of a task. And to be called „single greatest player“, he’d have to surpass that. I can see him win 7-8 world championships no problem, but no one will ever dominate the field as Taylor and MvG respectively did back in the day.

@presqpuperze Are you sure? What about the competition levels both face(d)? There's dozens of guys now who can get hot and worldbeat entire fields of legends on any given day. Phil didn't face, even remotely, this current level of competition. Get back to me in 40 years and will continue the discussion.

@@teejay6063 Phil faced them way too late in his career to compare them, that’s true. But yes, I am sure. Phil has the highest lifetime average of any player, has registered most of the top 10 averages in any tournament, and even when his opponents stepped up their game, he still left them no chance (Taylor v Lewis, World Matchplay Semi Final, Lewis was demolished despite hitting an 111 average over the course of around 30 legs). Taylor was incredibly consistent - and that was new to the scene, at least in that level. Phil in the midst of his career could still win tournaments, pull of streaks, etc. during this time‘s competition, but he would never dominate as much as he had. He has won everything on ten‘s of occasions, and nobody will ever do the same. Sure the competition is more fierce now, that shouldn’t distract you from the standard Phil was playing at. He played this level, and better, for most of his career. Even arguing he wouldn’t be the best player ever to pick up a dart is ridiculous.

Love my darts and love this kid. My kids are older, lol. He's an inspiration for a great sport and such a personable fella. Very impressed and just hope he keeps his head on. Congrats Luke on another masterclass

Even though he can be cocky, big headed and a terrible loser (already throwing his toys out of his pram on several occasions but his PR team quickly had a word and put that into check, as they can't have anything that negatively affects the Littler hype train). I believe it was also set in stone for him to win the Premier League but we still have another couple of weeks yet so we'll see.
