    Thank so very much for your step by step instructions on this machine. I had brought my drill press about a year ago but I was a little intimated to put it together until I found your channel so thank you again.

    You're most welcome. I am glad to know I could help you. I still have mine and I just used it the other day to modify an auto AC compressor mounting hole so that the compressor would fit on my car. It made quick work of it and now my car is nice and cool again. Thank you for watching, commenting and the very kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀

    Thank you for the helpful video. My pivot lever did come attached to the table support. Had difficulty tightening at first because the instruction picture showed the lever on the right when it should go on left. Only 1 side of the table support has threads so it makes a difference the side you screw the pivot lever.

    I just bought one yesterday and I hope it works well for the projects I like to work on. I like to build AR15s and P80 handguns and I hope a decent drill press will help me do the job better than a hand drill did.

    It's still working fine for me. I found the trick is to buy good drill bits. Cobalt seem to work the best. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀

    Great review, thank you Richard! I bought my drill press a couple of weeks ago, and you've given me the idea to go back and apply some grease before I use it again. I used a little Loctite on the threads when I screwed the 3 handles in because the drill press at work always seems to have a loose handle or two.

    I bought this and set it up yesterday. Set up went well, thanks for your video. But it seems like the chuck is not square on the shaft. There's a small amount of woble in my drill bits, causing small holes to be a little larger than they should be. For example, a 3/32" bit gives a 1/8" hole. How can I true-up the chuck?

  • @johngetz2043
    @johngetz20437 жыл бұрын

    The only negtive with the unit is the plastic depth stop collar that is mounted just above the chuck. It is made form flexible plastic and when the drill press is pulled down to drill, the plastic flexes rather than completely stoping the press from lowering giving uneven depth to holes, counter sink etc.

  • @richardlloydusa

    @richardlloydusa

    Mine is plastic too but it is quite stiff and does the job well. I don't really force against the stop either. Thanks.

    It's an 8" drill press so it would fit in there, but I would try to support it to get a straight hole.

    Similar thing here in good ol rip off England £80/100, my dad was a heavy goods vehicle fitter he had a cast steel/iron one of these took two of us to lift it, nice piece of kit your one, i call em Pillar Drill. ps i agree with the other chap sound and picture always spot on.

    +bmwnasher Thanks again. I work hard to make my videos easy to follow and enjoyable to watch. The drill press has already come in very handy in drilling a few pieces I need drilled accurately. I am going to do some exploration on a some of my suspension components (stabilizing links and lower ball joints) to see if I can install grease fittings (Zerk fittings) so they can be lubed regularly for longevity. They used to call oil changes "lube jobs" because they would lube all the joints at the same time as they changed the oil. With the "permanently" lubricated components they ship today there is no way to lubricate them. They are only lubricated once, when they are manufactured and that's it. Good for them, bad for us who have to change these components every time the lubrication dries up and the joints fail. If it works well on the 2003 Santa Fe I will do it to my Sorento as well. Take care.

    You got some nice videos. Good audio! How about you make one on how to make a HD antenna for TV. I've tried several store bought versions and they don't work well. I see other diy videos on he antennas but they aren't as nice as your stuff. Thanks, Rick.

    +Rick Potter Thank you very much. Poor audio is something that drove me nuts when watching KZread videos and took me some time to get right on my videos. So much so that I actually bought a new camera so I could plug in the lapel microphone that I use now. What's funny is that I have already made a home made Over The Air (OTA) Bow Tie antenna so I could get my local channels and it seems to work quite well. I have not compared it to other retail antennas to see if they are any better but it's a good question. I will put it on my video to do list. You can keep an eye out for it or subscribe and you will get a note every time I post a new video. Thanks again for the question.

    Hi, I got an 8 inch press from Harbor Freight, and the color above the chuck, the one that is holding the depth gage is broken, and is made out of plastic. Do you know how to change it, or where I can buy it?

    You have a 90 day warranty from Harbor Freight I suggest taking it back for replacement. They are really good on returns and replacements. Thanks.

    I just bought this one today and I can't get the table to tighten enough to stay up or even stay still. the gap is to big to tighten. I used a clamp to push it together but can't put the handle in now because the clamp is blocking the hole.
