Celeste - Retrospective & Review (No Spoilers)

Ойындар

Celeste is one of the highest rated indie games of all time, but what exactly makes it so good? What is Celeste and would you enjoy it? In this Retrospective and Review, I'll be explaining the gameplay systems and mechanics of Celeste. Celeste is where game design, narrative structure, and a dynamic soundtrack seamlessly blend together to create a very compelling 2D platformer. This retrospective contains no spoilers.

I wrote this Retrospective as I was playing the game over the course of about 4 months. I spent a long time writing the structure and script, as well as collecting clips and editing. I think this sets the record for most clips I've used in a Retrospective. I really hope you all enjoy this one as Celeste holds a special place in my heart. If games can be art, and I think they that they can, then to me Celeste is art. Enjoy and thank you so much for the support! - Resonance22

Resonance22 is when colorful commentary, strategic gameplay, and one asthmatic sick boi seamlessly blend together to create one of the best strategy game KZreadrs/Streamers I've ever watched.

One of the best games I’ve played in a long time. I have played over 40 hours and refuse to use online resources and I have still not found all the secrets. This video was the first I’ve heard about C-Sides or Golden Berries. Who knows how many more hours I have.

This has probably been my favourite Retrospective. Or Crypt of the NecroDancer. Or Puyo Puyo. Ah they're all good, good job mate.

Great video! These were some of my favorite streams you've done in a good while. I'm absolutely in love with the soundtrack and will definitely be picking this game up at some point. I'm sure it'll kick my ass just from watching you play it, but the whole message and aesthetic of this game is more than enough to make it worth playing.

I’d be happy to cover Shovel Knight as well in a future video if people are interested. It’s one of my favorite classic indie games for sure.

I don't know why but the game looks very charming perhaps it is nostalgic of some platformer games I've played befire.

One of my favourite games of recent times. I remember playing Jumper and Jumper Two several years ago and it was a pleasant surprise to see some mechanics transferred to this game and refined so well! It's also less frustrating than Super Meat Boy and manages to keep you coming back even if it take many retries. SMB made me rage quit.

@@fourtey8816 Not sure why Google gave me a notification 5 days late... but whatever lol Personally, I think Celeste was worth the money (likeable visuals, great music, and entertaining _enough_ for me to finish it) but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless I knew they liked that sort of gameplay. I don't hate _that_ kind of platformer gameplay, but I'm not some big fan either. For me, Celeste was kinda just "something to do" rather than a game I'd yearn to start playing after work... if that makes sense?

@@HeyImLucious yea I gotchu I really really liked it but I grew up playing snes and n64 games cause that's all my parents owned in till the Wii came out, so platformers are probably more catered towards a demographic like me, Idk. I fell in love with the game cause I'm struggling with similar things as Madeline, I play it for fun every chance I feel like I'm up to it cause I found the gameplay addicting but I agree with you that it's not really for everyone :) glad you enjoyed it tho

The only thing the game does wrong is that the dev is a bot at actually coding, the code he released was so fucking godawful it made me and other engineers throw up in our mouths.
