@@francesbernard2445 Yes. Or living together. Turned out he was cheating on her too. Though she found that out later. One time when visiting our parents, he stayed home, got drunk, and sited for driving under the influence. According to him, that made it her fault. If she had been there that weekend, he would not have got drunk and pulled over. I believe that's what started the fight she got slapped for. Her next boyfriend was much nicer, a real good guy. They did not last long, but it was a happy relationship.

Most of all when that has nothing to do with true love when it becomes only a rape culture caused triangulation crisis that you find yourself in when you are only trying to be sociable instead of being always ever a stick in the mud Schizotypal type personality just because you don't own your own car too. By the way owning your own car doesn't always help if people in your crowd tend to see any woman driver as bein only ever a disobedient to her parents and probable a trauma survivor who is attracting violence type of gal. Or when it is just the kind of man who thinks that whenever a woman admits that they love him that means it is automatic going to mean marriage to him next too even before he asks her to marry him only because he thinks he is so great. Some women are like that too - Scary ones. Scary women for example who wouldn't mind at all when being asked to be experimenting on people to find more out about how the body functions during the experience of romance so they wouldn't have to remain an actor any more.

This is why once someone puts their hands on me I leave. I've had it happen to me twice. The first time it was my son's father. We were engaged. He locked me in a room for two days with his grandmother's help. He thought because we had a kid I wouldn't leave. I left with the baby and the clothes on our backs. Never looked back. First time was the last. He ended up marrying a woman (a wam he had been cheating on me with) with adult son's who wouldn't put up with their mother being abused. They got divorced a few years later. One of his sons is now a politican and covers for his father and his fathers past abuses of women. The second time was with my ex-husband, he forgot two things.....1) I left someone before for hitting me. 2) I took boxing as a teenager. I defended myself and walked out that same night. Never looked back. First time was the last in that one too. They all try the I'm sorry baby and so on. Nope....no thank you. Keep it moving, but not with me. My exhusband is now in prison for attempted murder of one of his girlfriends. That could have been me. I dodge multiple bullets, leaving them once the hand went up against me.

Sensible strategy. What do you do though if when you accept a date with someone else who starts feeling sorry for his friend of over age 18 whom you used to date until he told you that his father told him that he had to stop dating you and then while dating someone else who is only a high school student after the over age 18 year old guy shows up at the same function that you and your high school new boy friend went to after he got so drunk there that it was unsafe for him to drive home in his own car? Happened to me once when I was only age 16 and the whole time while being driven on home on that date while being driven by an underage driver it felt so scary because of what was going on in that car so that later I refused to see the man over age 18 given a lift ever again next when he called me up to ask me out on a date again despite the fact that his father had warned him to stay away from me. Then the immature only a high school student who had borrowed his daddy's car when going out on that date with me without bothering to ask me any questions about what had happened and how I had felt about the whole ordeal then stopped seeing me which was no great loss too. The over age 18 year old was studying to become a lawyer.

Dr. G! Looking sharp in that pink shirt sir! What a heartbreaking story this is! My boyfriend's sister died from a domestic violence incident. He was abusive to her and when she went to divorce him, he killed her (stabbed her to death). He's serving life in prison with no parole. My boyfriend doesn't really like to talk about it because it makes him so upset. It took him six months into even knowing him until he got the courage to tell me about his deceased sister (she was the oldest of six kids.). Women tend to be at higher risk of being killed when they try and leave their abusers sadly. It's hard to say what happened in this case, especially since they were into rough sex/rough stuff to begin with.

Yes. Because women and men perceived as maybe being gay are often being held to much higher standards in some circles aren't they. Probable only because when police are at work it is a only a little harder to arrest men while still trying to collect evidence. Might explain why while the number of gadgets are increasing making it necessary for police to spend more time behind screens where they will not be getting enough exercise the prison population when it comes to females ending up in prison increased at an alarming rate in some states more than others. Leaving so many investigators frustrated that it becomes easier for the lower ranking less dedicated of them to take it out on the nearest alleged female accomplice. However it is true that some female organized crime boss crooks are so much more scary to police than the majority of male crooks because of how much more manipulative and cunning they become when on a criminally minded vendetta to avenge the death of one of their own.

An optimist and a navy veteran. He died 2018. I actually cannot remember the day in November 2018…. Anyhow I wanted to honor him her because I feel safe to do so in our community. A lot of people enjoy rough sex, they don't end up dead or, end up killing their sexual partner. No one should ever be allowed to use that as a defense. Lastly, if you have a loved one of life support, please don't let the doctors and staff pressure you to remove them too quickly. I learned first hand that the brain is amazing. Sometimes the body needs a bit of time to recover. A week or two isn't long enough. My POV only.

That is very good advice in my experience. I have a strict DNR for myself, for both health and financial reasons. I have set my finances up to benefit my family in the most useful way possible. As I have aged, I have adjusted my health directives to reflect the most likely outcomes I might expect to experience should I encounter an unexpected health crisis. A younger person in good health may want to allow months, instead of mere weeks, on life support.

The analogy of the "small bomb" was actually a really good way to put that. I just might use that someday. As scary and as difficult it can be to leave an abusive relationship, I truly hope anyone going through that is aware of the risks and better yet, leaves that risk.

I'm glad I managed to cut ties off with my abusive ex when I was a teen. I was young and didn't see the signs. He was extremely insecure, jealous and possessive but I just thought that was love. I wanted to get out the relationship for months but I was scared to. I did it right before summer holidays so I wouldn't have to face him. He still stalked and harassed me and my friends for another 2 years. Stayed single for a long time after that because I felt like I couldn't even breathe freely during that relationship. I don't know what kind of lies he spread about me either because even years later when I was in college, one of his friends would call me names every time they walked past me.

And, isn't it ironic that the "rough sex" defense almost always goes along with a crook saying the dead woman was drinking and/or taking legal or illegal drugs? And, isn't it true that the same set of weak excuses are often offered in court too whenever a dead person room mate is a man instead? And so who was for real a lot of the time in crimes like these taking too much drug maybe starting when young for ADHD or MDMA [Ecstacy] for PTSD to make sure the student will please their folks enough with good grades? Researchers in South Carolina have begun experimenting with MDMA for patients with post-traumatic stress disorder.

We had an awful case of a homicide in Greece unraveling in the past couple of days. A pilot killed his wife and tried to make it look like a burglary. The most disturbing aspect is that his placed their 11 month old daughter next to her dead mother and also hanged their dog in order to throw the police of his scent. The police made him confess after 37 days of lying. I felt it compelling that a psychologist that was analyzing the situation said that there doesn’t seem to be any psychological issues of psychopathic nature but just extreme narcissism combined with dominance and jealousy. It made me understand what she was saying due to all of your videos. She also made a point of saying that constantly saying that a killer is a psychopath is unfair to all the people that live with mental issues and deal with the stigma that they might be dangerous. Love the video, Doc.

Unfortunately, I was in an emotionally abusive relationship for 5 years. When I tried to end the relationship, this person became physically abusive, I was luckily able to isolate myself (by crawling), with a phone, in a bathroom and called 911. My mother stayed overnight and my father changed the locks first thing in the morning. I started counseling with the main goal of never reconciling with my abuser. Fast forward 8 years , my ex publicly killed themselves in front of a pollitical figure for whom they had "unrequited love." It was well covered in the media and my family is so happy I did the work to end that relationship. It took 8 years, lots of counseling and the death of my abuser for me to finally feel safe. It's finally over.
