Such a mess. The driver or drivers that hit the pedestrian won't forget what they saw. Nightmares and ptsd material. Hopefully they will get counselling. I really hope the truck driver keeps driving trucks, sounds like driving over the body was unavoidable. Such an awful split second decision to have to make. For most people it would instinctive to react to avoid it but then you add on the fact you are driving a big rig and there's consequences to jerking or suddenly moving the steering wheel. I will be praying for the first responders and anyone else who saw what happened or raan over the body. Blessings, Dot

The Truck Driver will definitely suffer the most...If his mind won't remember what happened, his senses will for him.

That has to be a rough scene. Several cars probably hit and dragged the body for a distance before it finally coming loose and then a semi running it over? Id probably vomit at the scene. And yet so many people "hate" cops.

I’m living here in California at the moment and it’s a daily occurrence to see people walking down the roadway, even with sidewalks on the other side still in the left lane walking and almost always it’s on a road similar to this I’ll never understand it

Unfortunately we have freeway dwellers, the 110 arroyo seco parkway has scores of tents lined up along the east side. They cut the fencing to access their tents. I have seen them riding bikes down the side of the freeway.

First responders wouldn’t want to be do anything else but this or they would quit. Most of this stuff doesn’t bother them or they wouldn’t be doing it. They love what they’re doing ….the action and the excitement is what draws them to it. What they have to see is part of their job and believe me…..there are lots of folks who could do that job without any problem.

@@penelopelopez8296 I’m not too sure about that, I don’t think they get any pleasure from seeing these gruesome accidents and having do gather up pieces of a deceased human body. I doubt they ever get “used” to it. So many end up with terrible PTSD and some end up committing suicide because they can’t deal with it.

I'm a truck driver who also works for XPO . I'm pretty sure that I'm going to know which of my fellow drivers hit this man and what he and the other drivers may be going through. He just hit someone, someone who may have already have been dead ,but that still doesn't make it any easier to deal with. And now they're all just sitting there, with nothing to do except replaying what they saw and heard and felt over and over in their heads. I'm also familiar with this stretch of freeway and know that there are many homeless people who live in the bushes. This man was probably one of them. He probably went to or was coming back from getting something to eat. He probably didn't want to walk to the nearest overpass and then walk back. He probably thought " I'll just run across the freeway when there's a gap" Sadly , he didn't make it. May he rest in peace and may the drivers who hit him be at peace knowing that, at that speed, there was nothing they could have done to avoid him .🙏

I saw this right as they opened the HOV lane to traffic on my way to LAX. The person I was taking there asked me, "was that a body in the road?"

This the 405 south bound about 6 blocks before the 110 freeway into San Pedro. About 3 years ago I witnessed a man hang himself over Vermont street on the 405. Lots of homeless people in this area. It's also well know for freeway suicides so who knows what happened to the guy.

That almost happened to me over here in Chicago on 3/23/20 a man Tried to run in front of my truck on the freeway trying to take his own life but I was able to swerve out of the way almost rolling over my truck but the semi truck behind me struck him and killed him 🙁
