Triple Fatal Crash | LOS ANGELES, CA 2.11.18
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - LAFD received word of a multi-car accident on Adams Blvd near 7th avenue in the Jefferson area. Initial scanner traffic described a two vehicle crash with four victims needing help and one vehicle overturned. One truck had head on damage and one vehicle that appears to be a sedan had "T-bone" type damage as well as roll-over damage. Upon arrival, the sedan was seen with it's roof leaning on a fence. The truck is believed to have had one occupant. He was seen able to walk but with obvious bleeding. He was eventually transported. The sedan is believed to have had four occupants. One was removed and transported with injuries of unknown severity. The three other occupants are reported dead at the scene (per scanner traffic).
Video shows the male driver of the truck being treated and then transported. Video also shows fire crews using a crane to lift the sedan off it's side and turn it right side up to try and access the bodies in the sedan.
Neighbors report seeing the sedan traveling at a high rate a speed when it hit a dip in the road, lost control, and cross into oncoming traffic before hitting the truck.
*Video also includes a SOT from a neighbor.* He heard the crash, came to the scene minutes after it happened, and talked to a driver who actually witnessed the crash. He also said that vehicles constantly travel at a high rate of speed down Adams Blvd and this was not the first serious accident on this road even today (Sunday).

based on the time frame, most speed crashes at night are a result of alcohol, racing or pure stupidity.
Speeding kills! No matter the circumstances, alcohol, drugs, lack of law enforcement of speeding, it still comes down to personal responsibility. Thank God the truck driver survived. And now, the lives of all the injured and deceased and their family and friends are changed forever, over being irresponsible and behaving badly.

The crash was reported at 10:13 p.m. Sunday in the 3500 block of West Adams Boulevard, Los Angeles Fire officials said. Diego Portillo-Marquez, 18, the driver of a Toyota Scion involved in the crash, was pronounced dead the scene. A woman in her 20s who was also in the car was also killed. A 21-year-old man who had been a passenger in the Scion was taken to a trauma center in critical condition, officials said. Witnesses said the Scion had been going as much as 100 mph when it lost control, crossed into oncoming lanes and was T-boned by a Toyota Tacoma truck before it rolled over and ended up on its side.

A dip in the road is no big thing at the speed limit. The same "dip" in the road becomes a ramp at high speeds. And the wheels don't even leave the pavement...
@leebimsleeleebims9831

Hitting that dip doing 100+ mph is going to fucking launch a car after hitting it high up into the air with most likely all 4 wheels leaving the ground and then slamming it back down into the ground after launching sideways in the air and no possible way to control that car .. driver's hands surely flew off the steering wheel when they slammed into the dip and were still off of the steering wheel when they landed . Resulting in them crossing over into on coming traffic sideways getting tboned by the truck .. hopefully they died instantly.. at that speed pretty sure they all had about 1 second to yell oh shit look up in car for their each an own oh shit handles inside the car but by then it would of been far to late to do anything. Rip and slow down people .. SPEED KILLS

This is the price we pay for not enforcing our immigration laws and allowing California to become the nation's largest sanctuary for Mexican citizens. It's become the playground and ATM for those who pour across the border with a middle finger believing that the U.S. stole California from Mexico. Los Angeles is by far the champion demolition derby of twisted smoldering metal, permanent disabilities and 1/3 of the nation's yearly fatality totals. The numbers to the outsider are unimaginable. That news reporters, anchors, police agencies, sheriff's, fire department, and highway patrol, and even bystanders are all Latino should show the scope of this historic imposing of a culture into the established culture they claimed to want to come here for...

It's boy banter, folklore by those who don't even know their own history, then feign to know U.S. history. Let's preface this conversation by saying that California was not native Mexican soil. Reconquista is fueled by false information in Latino revisionist history books. They read as if American forces invaded California when it was ruled by Mexico. In fact, Mexico's governance of California had ended one and a half years earlier, and Mexican rule had been very brief. In 1842, Mexico tried to sell the ungovernable and unsettled California to the King of Prussia. His ambassadors in London and Washington urged purchase, but the King declined the offer on the advice of a famous explorer, Alexander von Humboldt. In 1846, after the Mexican-American War broke out, the US Navy arrived in Monterey on July 1 and hoisted the American flag. It was a timely arrival. A British fleet showed up on July 6 -- too late. The British had planned to seize California as a means of collecting Mexican debts. In sum, Mexican rule was brief, much interrupted, and unwelcome. California was destined to become British or American. It was never native Mexican soil. None of the Southwest was ever Mexico. It belonged to the Apache and Comanche Indians which devastated Mexico. Mexicans that dispute the US ownership of the Southwest states confuse the matter of Mexico's independence from Spain, which it did not get until 1821, which is just 25 years before the Mexican-American War. This means that Mexicans are supporting a claim made by Spain, not Mexico as owners of the Southwest. This is a claim made over what were unconquered Indian lands, not Pretendian lands. 58% of Mexicans believe the Southwest belongs to Mexico. Mexico's control over what is now the U.S. Southwest was non-existent. They had no ability to administer the area of land. And as Mexicans might recognize, Spain claimed all of Mexico. The Spanish had a tiny population in the disputed territories, and in the territory that is now Texas. Mexico invited the U.S. to settle the territories and fight the Indians which were destroying its population. Next, Napoleon invaded Spain, breaking Spain's grip on Mexico. Mexicans did not even come as far as Tabac until the U.S. Army build military forts. It was too treacherous for them. Josiah Gregg, who was with the U.S. Army in Northern Mexico, wrote that "the whole country from New Mexico to the borders of Durango were unpopulated. Haciendas and ranchos were abandoned or destroyed. The Mexican government offered the U.S. Army to take Texas and create a buffer. The U.S. eventually defeated all of the Indian tribes. The Mexicans did not. That brings up the real question of control and ownership of the Southwest as Mexico lost against the Indian tribes. The dad called the closest neighbor (in shock, he didn't think to call 911). Neighbor rushed over with bed sheets she'd been folding. Saved his life though he lost the arm. Volunteer EMT's were outnumbered by farmers 3 to 1 who jumped in to get the (mangled) arm free. And then those same farmers harvested his crops for him. I live in LA and out of all the things people (who have no idea what they're talking about) bitch about this is a first. We love and respect our first responders and if we pay higher taxes so that our first responders and members of the community are well taken care of in an emergency that is not a problem. Also, when a 911 call comes in, dispatchers often are not given precise or complete information. Units are dispatched on a worst-case scenario to ensure the highest level of care. No medical call is “routine.” Most require assessing the patient, obtaining their vital signs, providing oxygen therapy, and moving them, at a minimum. EMS may also need to place an advanced airway, administer drugs intravenously, or monitor cardiac conditions. All of these procedures are completed more efficiently when the appropriate amount of help is on scene. Efficient care is the goal, and efficient care often is the difference between life and death. Unfortunately, units have no way of knowing what they will encounter on a call until they arrive. They work in a “what if” and “all risk” business. Responding to the unknown is public safety. Would you be stating your message if that was your family in that situation? Or would you be thankful that they are obviously receiving all care that they need when their life is on the line?

I agree 💯 the driving age should be raised for most young ppl. There have been speed limiters on vehicles for a long while now, unfortunately even if they are implemented, they can easily be bypassed by anyone who has a need for speed.
Good, two less cars on the roads, I really hate people taking my parking space.
Lives changed in an instant.

Who? What is your job Michelle, since you love to judge everyone else. I’m guessing you don’t have one.
We all act like it’s the other drivers but for the most part we all get away with it until we dont

Then don’t do it
I saw what looked like hair and back of the head of an elderly person as one of the bodies in the overturned car. If that was the sedan that was speeding, I wonder if the passengers were older people and the speeding driver had some kind of medical emergency?
