How to fix a P2185 Code: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit High
A P2185 code is set when the computer sees the ECT sensor 2 input is very high, very low, or there is no voltage.
An Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECT) is a Thermistor that changes resistance with the temperature.
Possible Causes of a P2185 Code:
Bad Engine Coolant Temp (ECT) Sensor 2
(ECT)Sensor 2 Wiring Problem
Overheating or Cooling System Issues

I get that code occasionally when the weather is cold. It takes my 2008 HHR a little too long to get warm enough. But after it gets warm everything works great. My average temp going down the highway is about 185. In town it averages about 195 degrees. Should I change the thermostat or the sensor? I’m thinking the previous owner installed a cooler running thermostat. Thanks

It may be the wrong-rated temp, or it is starting to go bad.
I’ve changed the sensor five times already and it keeps giving me that same cold temperature circuit high voltage coolant sensor two which is located on the radiator I keep getting the same code p2185 I don’t know what else to do it not over heating at all I don’t have a mime meter I just have a regular standard voltage reader which turns the light green and bolt when I touch both outlet they both turned green

If the components are good it likely is in the wiring
