    Can't beat having the right facilities when working with cattle. Clipping the cattle back is a good way of keeping them cool when in the shed

    Great video Gerry. I wish or set up was as good as that. We have ours inside with a crush bolted to the ground and 8 feet gates for about 40 feet. It's not great if ya have a frisky bull or mad cow cause they can just jump out Into the slats and run through 6 sheds in a straight line.

    Nice video Gerry. What's the purpose of the shaved backs. How often do you do the foot baths. I'm sure there's more then water for that washing. Do you wash the pens too before they go back in.

  • @gerry6420

    @gerry6420

    Neusa C shaving their back allows them to be more comfortable durning the warmer day of our winter. We can have mild warm spells of weather and cattle are less likely to sweat. So more comfortable and also allows for them to thrive better too. Only have to foot bath 1-2 times per winter usually. No we add a acidic wash which really kills anything on their feet. you don’t have to wash the pens at this stage. You can spread lime on the floor area and that will also kill any unwanted bugs or bacteria. Raising beef is a tough job with something out to catch you out at every corner.
