Caterpillar SIXTY Rebuild Project - The Master Plan for the project!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Merry Christmas everyone. Before I get into the content of the video, I just want to thank you all for continuing to support my channel. 2022 saw some pretty substantial growth, and that is all thanks to you all watching the videos. I look forward to seeing you again in the new year, lets hope we can grow things even more in 2023.
In this episode it is mostly me talking to fill you in with what the master plan is for this project. Now that we have been able to asses both engines we have a plan to move forward with. It is a pretty solid plan to work from, and we have a good foundation to build from.
The first one is a 1927 as I thought and the newer one is a 1930.
Don't forget to like, subscribe and get notified so that you can keep up to date as we continue to build our Caterpillar Sixty.
Thanks again for taking the time to watch the channel, and remember I am Ironman!

It’s always a treat, watching you guys work on those old workhorses. If I had the shop capacity I wouldn’t turn a project like this down. But being a spectator is 2nd best. Have fun and enjoy the ride…

Thanks for watching George! Have a great new year
Told you previously Nathan that Squatch introduced your channel when he got the cab/canopy off you. You and Squatch have different ways of getting machines back working - both methods are absorbing, think it's because the two of you have infectious enthusiasm. Looking forward to when you fire the 60 up. Take care. 🇬🇧🎅

You probably knew you would hear from me. I noticed him move the fan in the beginning of the video and was wondering how it could be moved so easily being gear driven. I got lucky and didn’t have to do anything with the radiator, didn’t remove it and so far hasn’t leaked a drop. When you were outside you apologized for the light. You’re working on a Sixty, you don’t have to apologize for anything! All I had to work on was the engine on mine, everything else was in very usable condition. On mine I could tell that it was gone through at some time I think using good parts from different tractors. 3 hours, that takes dedication. Keep up the good work and I’ll keep watching. 👍

Thanks so much for watching Geoffrey, it is a long drive to the shop but it’ll be worth it in the end! I brought lots of parts home with me this last time that I can work on and refurbish before I go back to the shop. We will see you in the new year for more on this project.
Nathan really enjoying the sixty rebuilt. I have been rebuilding a big twenty for a number of years. The sixty is similar in design to the twenty.

Yep. Your PA 1862 is a 1927 Peoria tractor. I have 5004 A (1929 San Leandro) with Latourneau scraper and cable control unit. I'm enjoying watching your project. Nice work.

You have a scraper behind your Sixty? That’s pretty sweet, is it an early LeTourneau time period correct one? Thanks for watching, much appreciated.

It’s hooked up to a LaTourneau 35. I believe it’s a 7 yard model on steel wheels. Yes, period correct for the Sixty.

@@ironman3406 I love seeing the old iron preserved. As a young child, I saw the interstate hi-way system get started, and have enjoyed learning about all the history behind the companies that made the equipment that made it possible. I first discovered Toby's channel, Squatch253 and have now found quite a few others dedicated to preserving Americas great machines.

Is there any value in keeping the engine and chassis numbers matching?
@ironman3406
Жыл бұрын
Not to us, to some people I’m sure they are cringing at the thought. But we are more interested in having one runner vs a number matching. The block isn’t any different, and this way we won’t have to mess around with the Babbitt in the crank to swap it from block to block. Thanks for watching
