I keep getting flashbacks of the added scene they had in the 3rd Hobbit film where Galadriel, Elrond and Saruman came to face the Necromancer (Sauron) to save Gandalf... The moment when Rhadagast the Brown was about to drive away on his sleigh with Gandalf and he reached out and grabbed Galadriel by the hand and said, "Come with me my Lady" because he knew the power Sauron had over the Elven Ring that Galadriel had... That moment was just so beautiful for me...

It was so moving when Ian talked about dressing up as Gandalf and suddenly finding the character. Even Cate seemed emotional.

I love that she still is proud of Rooney for her acting in Carol. For me, it was Rooney’s character that stole the show and she rightfully deserved the Oscar that year, but Cate really manages to embody that classy, upper-class American Carol character. They had such easy chemistry.

Cate and Ian are seriously one of the very very very top amazing astonishing actors in the entire world.

I liked that she mentionned the parallel between Blanche Dubois and her character in Blue Jasmine. Woody's denial of it was just ludicrous. And Cate looks so much like Vivien in that movie too.

I really love the way they carry themselves. Its so different from what we see in the mainstream of people. Theyre very grounded, calm, respectful of each other. Seeing actors like this gets me excited to age ❤

Xcuze nah I never consider LOTR/Hobbit a CB film since she was only on screen for like 5 mins lol Cinderella was different though, the two "leads" were relatively unknown, that's why Cate got top billing over Lily and Richard. But yes you're right, JLaw is a bigger BO draw bc she's young + bigger celebrity while Cate is older + very private person

I listen to this with headphones and yet I find myself leaning in to 'hear' more because the authenticity manifest in this conversation is endlessly engaging and revealing. This is a mesmerising encounter of mutual respect, interest and talent.

Cate Blanchett is a legend. And it was priceless at 14:17 , how humble of herself she is.

They are completely in another level and I love it.

I feel sophisticated and intelligent just watching them, such a grace and calmness radiating from them two, almost mesmerizing

two of the finest actors ever. It was genius to cast them in TLOTR. Ian Mc Kellen deserved the academy awards for his impersonation of Gandalf, hands down. One of the best acting performance ever.

I've watched this interview three times and I still am not tired of it. Their conversation is effortless and they really seem to adore each other.

"They're busy aren't they, bees." A sentence I never thought I'd hear Ian McKellen say but I loved it :)

Cate Blanchett is so amazingly beautiful and Ian McKellen always seems like such a friendly and calm "grandfather" .

you don't always get to see two powerhouses sitting across each other in a room (outside of a film set), talking about their achievements and experiences. this is such a treat.

My IQ just went up 20 points from watching this video.
