    dayum never seen anything that big pulled out of there, good for you letting them all go ,its a small pressurised body and im surprised there is still anything left in there till now , wonder if the gov are still stokcing it

    Sometimes it’s so frustrating fishing these rly urban ponds everyone keeping the smallest blue gills🤦🏻‍♂️ glad u were able to catch some fish!!

    @@PUMPKNOWSFISHING Yupp I got a conservation area in Hamilton that is only catch and release lost a5-6 pounder the other day on a jerk bait going for pike 😓

    @@PUMPKNOWSFISHING personally if they were to allow keeping they should 1. stock more fish and 2. put a hight restriction to the fish finally 3. make it 3 of any fish a day that's how it's done at windmill point park and the fishing is still good but then again this gets way more pressure so they should have 2 fish daily actually

    Thats "Local John'" voice in the beginning lol I used to see him every single time id fish the pond. Last weekend was my first time there in years and i was thinking of him, glad he's still around. I always enoyed his company.

    hopefully with High park turning the car lanes into bike lanes the fishery will improve as less fisherman's come

    Man, that was an exciting day for you, Pump. Catching a monster bass and a monster pike. Seeing that one guy at the end keeping everything he caught is astonishing. I bet he would of kept the turtle as well if he brought it in to eat it.

    This is cool! just starting fishing, will try going here for the first time tomorrow. I've got some similar lures as you, the frog one looks interesting so may have to pick one of those up. What type of rod were you using? Seems like you were able to cast pretty far without much effort

    @@PUMPKNOWSFISHING Thanks! Just got back, didn't catch anything but was a nice day out. Definitely had trouble casting very far with my spinnerbait. I'm thinking of copying the gear you have... but seeing the prices online did the rod cost you $200+ CAD? And another ~$200 for the reel? I was using a 6' Medium Light Fast rod... but also have a 7' medium. Don't know how I feel about dropping $400 for another rod setup. Thx again for your help, great video btw.

    @@nonameddog yea they go for that much but st.Croix makes quality rods with good warranty. Maybe your spinnerbait was too light of a lure to cast?

    Always catch bluegill/crappie there, only once caught a small mouth and yet to catch a large mouth, always seem to be not hungry when I go. 😅

    My initial thoughts when I hooked up was a snagged carp. Then I noticed it was a pike…cool. I didn’t realize how long it was until I picked it up. That’s pretty big for high park. As for uploads… I’ve been taking a break. If something interesting happens I’ll make sure to upload. 👍

    That was a Crucian Carp by the looks of it...what its doing in Grenadier Pond I have no idea.

    I caught 1 once before I didn't know at the time what it was so I released it and had a vegan tell me to release it immediately while I was trying to identify the fish. she actually threatened me because I said these fish can survive up to half an hour on land as long as the body is wet

    He’s probably gonna eat it? Any goldfish should be removed and killed from any pond. They’re invasive and destructive to the ecosystem

    Hey pump how’s it going? I was wondering if we could ever meet up and try fishing together I am constantly trying to catch fish around me but I can’t seem to get anything. I haven’t caught a single fish other than one bass within and hour and a half of my house. If not that’s totally ok I respect your decision just a kid trying to catch some fish. Loving the vids btw keep up the great work.

    I wish I could but my time to get out and fish is very limited. Years ago I’d do fishing trips with groups of subscribers and fish certain areas. As of now I try to hit up high park for a couple hrs whenever I get a chance. If you ever fish there u might run into me

    You should try heading out to Lake Simcoe this winter for some yellow perch ice fishing. Just grab a few buddies that are OK with the snow, and with a little research you will find dozens and dozens of fish easily... good luck

    There are some ponds where "fish consumption" is not allowed, ie only catch & release. The way it should be for these kids of places, unless the govt is very actively stocking in abundance for fishing purposes. I've seen people keep every bloody thing :/

    I agree. I was in the area yesterday and I was told a small pike was caught and kept. They said the pike was about a foot long and was curled up in the persons bucket. I wish they made all ponds in the city catch and release

    @@PUMPKNOWSFISHING i think it was victoria day or canada day and i went to sorauren park and i brought the frog with me because i liked to so much, i set off fireworks and stuff and when i came home i relised that it was gone i was asking around and stuff but turns out it was in a platic bag that was cut for me and the people i went with to sit on so when they left they didnt see the frog and they threw out the bag, i was searching for it for days but then i was told what happend, im really sorry i didnt tell you earilier and im sorry i lost it.

    If anything, one shouldn't be releasing goldfish back into the pond as they do not belong there. Do people eat goldfish? Maybe I guess..? but in the interests of conservation, goldfish is one of the few fish we should be happy he's keeping... When released into the wild like in this case, goldfish can devastate natural ecosystems especially with how strong their survivability is.

    Wow! Catch and release in 2024. Dude! Don't catch fish to eat and then release them again, otherwise it will cause unnecessary stress and injury to the animals. I mean fishing is fun, I did it for years as a kid, but then I realized that catching them blunt WITHOUT eating them just doesn't make any sense.
