Lol. Glad I'm not the only one who hit myself in the face! I was trying to tighten a lace once. I have a special pair of "J" shaped needle nose pliers that are smooth without any ridges on the jaws. Perfect for tightening laces without leaving a mark on them. But they don't have as much grip. I pulled real hard and they slipped and I hit myself right in the forehead making me bleed. I guess that's dedication!
