When you play OWS, don't rush the city. Get a knight for defense first. Robber control is essential in an OWS game.

Thanks for this piece of advise! I think you're right, and I've been trying to prioritize robber control more in my recent games :)

Great game, but you had the 16 point win a bit earlier in your last game. Just had to take army. Really glad I found your channel, cheers.

GREAT CONTENT! You made a huge mistake in the last game although you won it by far. You should have taken the 942.as the second settle and point right. That would have ended his game in the first 2 minutes.

@@fabiozindel if he takes the 942 and point right, he will have wheat on 9 6 and later on the 8 while he has the wheat port. Pointing right, will block the opponent from the 6 ore.

14:22 You should consider other options too. 5-9-10 into 6-5-12 is very strong here and without a lucky YOP pull it's highly unlikely that your opponent beats you to it.

That's a solid proposal. The 5-9-10 as a 2nd pick and building quickly to the 6 ore could be a really strong option. Thanks for the comment!

@@Schloopity I think your opponent made a crucial mistake by leaving the 5-9-10 open for you. Double wood/brick with perfect ratios and possibility to road settle on the strongest ore is so hard to beat. As red, I would go 6-3-11 with 5-9-10 up. You force green into the 6-5-12 and if you mangage to settle on the 8-4-10 relatively quickly, you are crushing the game.

Today I experienced the joy of testicular torsion. I missed the last step going down a ladder and did a weird jig to the ground where I felt strange tight sensation in my ball. I went inside and the testicular cord had swollen up so much it felt like I had a third nut inside of my sack. So I went to the ER and the nurse checked it out and said that I needed an ultrasound. And as I was waiting for the ultrasound I felt a sudden shift in my ball followed by sweeping relief as the numbness went away and the swelling and pain went down. They went ahead and did an ultrasound for my peace of mind. But blood flow was back to normal and there's no lasting damage. Hoorah. Now I'm just going to be on the couch for a while.

3:32 you should be discarding 3 sheep and 2 wood here. You have to 4:1 for your brick so give yourself the opportunity to do it asap before you’re plowed. This is a big mistake imo as that 6/2 is imperative for your game. It also discards the sheep from being able to be drawn now that his sheep is blocked.

hey man i enjoy the videos and have some remarks (i am between 2000-2200 in Ranked 1v1) First Game: Imo you need knights ready before the city. and you need them to rob brick from him! 8:10 : the 8-3 does nothing for you. why waste a yop to build two roads there? you could road settle to 3:1 or sheep port (you have the ore port!!!) Second game: Well played! but i really dont understand all the complaining. Third Game: just take the 942 and point toward the 6 ore that setup is even better and gives your opp ZERO chance Looking forward so seeing more! GG

Thank you for your detailed comment! I'm definitely still learning, and appreciate the advice. I agree that the roads to the 8-3 didn't serve much and was a misplay/bad allocation of resources. I was a bit frustrated and not playing optimally. As for the third game, that's an interesting suggestion! When it comes to initial settlements I can get a bit fixated on the first thing that catches my eye, and I'm trying to fully consider the board more. Thank you again!

Regarding the double road 8-3 play at 7:37, Schloop was probably afraid of losing this spot to Red. But if Red did that, it would be actually beneficial for Schloop, because then the 8 wheat would be less likely to be blocked. So by securing this spot, Schloop effectively protected Red from making a mistake! That's what happens when you waste energy complaining about the dice, instead of focusing on playing optimally. 🙂

3:20 Passing with 10 cards was criminal. You should port the 4 wood for an ore, and pop. You have no need for all that wood, and eventually you'll port it anyway, so why not port it now that you have the chance? Then after you are hit by the robber (3:32), you discard dev-card material and keep 2 wood. Why? Your 8-wheat and 6-sheep are going to be hammered. Your game plan is pop-pop-pop, not hoard useless wood for building roads with the brick that you don't have!

You're right. In my mind, I probably didn't want to port the "rare" wood for the "common" materials that I had a lot of production on. But being actionable is almost always better, and is certainly better than discarding, haha! Thanks for the comment
