Great games! In the second one, I think buying less devs once getting all 5 VPS and focusing on citities and more settles for your win condition may have got you there quicker.

So wild how well you did that 2nd game with no brick. OWS normally gets hammered in 1v1 since your opponent just outpaces you with settles.

Eh I kinda disagree here. Devs and robber control are probably the biggest determining factor in 1v1. Early blocks of a crucial resource can let you snowball much harder

Little bit of Intel, the friendly robber won't allow them to rob you until you have three points on the board. It excludes vp's, which means if you're in a position to pop and they aren't before you settle or city once, you can do a lot of prep work while they can't rob you. I won a game that way just setting up my settle spots careful not to take road, managed to get like 3 vp's before I ever settled and tons of knights. Just got to be careful not to take army cause as soon as you have points that aren't vp's they can start robbing you, but you can do a fair bit if a sneak game early on and use 7 rolls to rob them and they can't rob or even block you.

I play quite a few 1v1s and they can get savage. You had two roads at one point, i would have used them defensively to block him from getting the 8,5,10. Road is not as important in 1v1 its more focused on production and devs. In hindsight, pointing right to the 3:1 at the 8,4,3 would have been risky but very rewarding. The 6 has a high chance to roll, and you destroy his port ability. But then red would have to decide ‘do i want to prioritize the 8,5,10 or the 8,10’. As red in that above scenario, i would care about the 8,5,10 becuz if you got it it makes you goated. Great game though and amazing job as always

That's a super relevant stat in 1v1 that colonist has yet to start posting. Roughly, I use: # times player A rolled 7 = (player A resources gained by robbing) - (player A knights played)

1v1 is a great change of pace! I’m in favor of 2 1v1 videos a week. 4p gets a bit sweaty and slow sometimes
