I didn't know the feral cat I started feeding was pregnant or about to give birth. She disappeared for two days so I went looking for her. I found her nearby lying in some bushes. She looked very poorly. I was able to pick her up as she was so sick and didn't resist. I noticed something hanging out of her vagina. I rushed her to the vet, who told me that her kitten had got stuck in the birth canal. She looked so young herself. It was touch and go, but they managed to save her and desex her at the same time. It cost me just over $1000. I took her in and she became the most gentle loving cat. That was 17 years ago. There were no KZread videos like nowadays that teach you everything you need to know and how to do things. That cat became my soul cat. She'd always want to be with me. I cried so much when she eventually passed. This video is so helpful and brings awareness to the possible complications that can arise with a pregnant cat. Thank you for posting it xx

Cats reach maturity at the age of 4 months old and can get pregnant from then on. I’ve seen MANY pregnant kittens since I work at a shelter and it’s very damning on them that young

@@funnybunny99002Precisely !! They can be mothers before they are 6 months of age and whilst sexually mature, they are far from mature physically and otherwise. Carrying them to term is going to be a significant physical strain let alone child birth then being capable to feeding and raising however many kittens (their condition another issue). IS this cat/kitten spayed or neutered should be one of the first questions asked before buying and a vet visit one of the first priorities once their home both for check-up (which will verify yes/no re desexing) and any vaccinations. Don't let them outside until these boxes are ticked.

We have a stray pregnant cat that wandered up a few weeks ago. We didn't realize she was pregnant until about two weeks ago when her belly suddenly seemed big. Her milk started coming in a few days ago so I know that labor is going to start any day now. I am so glad I watched this practical and informative video so that now I know what to expect! We've grown so attached to each other and I am grateful she's chosen us to share this experience with. She seems very young herself so I'm assuming this is her first litter. It's definitely my first either way lol and I am super nervous but excited. I can't wait to meet her babies and give them everything they need to be successfully rehomed when it's time. As far as their mommy goes though, my sweet Teeny Deeny will be getting spayed and immunized just as soon as it's safe to do so... And she will be staying right here with us in her forever home. Praying that everything goes well with her delivery but I definitely feel more prepared now thanks to you sharing your journey!

I’m in this exact situation. A stray kitten (around 6 months) wondered into our apartment building 3 times in one day. Everyone kept kicking her out. I went to check if she was still by the door at 11 PM. She was, so I took her in. No luck in finding owners over the next week. We decided to keep her, because she is super sweet and her and my dog get along great. I went on vacation the next week. When I would talk to my hubby, he said she was getting fat. I told him I’d bring her to the vet so we know how much to feed her when I get home. (It’s not uncommon for my strays to put weight on quickly.) After I got home, I noticed her belly and said “Oh my goodness, she’s pregnant!” It didn’t cross my mind before that, because I thought she was so young, that she didn’t even have her first heat yet. Apparently, she had at least one heat and got impregnated, a few weeks before she came to live with us. Now I’m anxiously preparing for kittens!

I volunteer at a cat shelter, so I've had to help some of the cats through their births. It really is important that cats are fixed so that the births are prepared for and wanted because there are so many strays and others that are put down because of overpopulation.

That happend to me once.. but she had an emergency c section because her labor was 3 days past cause 2 kittens ware stuck on the birth canal and 5 of her 6 babys died... i almost lose her too. Was devastating.

This is over 5 years old but you have much better info than most cat labor videos. Thank you! My Mama cat is going to deliver sometime, I believe, in the next week. She's super clingy, milk has come in and I can feel and see those babies rolling around in her. This is her second litter and I did everything I could to prevent her from escaping and she snuck out anyhow! I agree we should spay and neuter. I just didn't have the funds but I am going to take her to a spay and neuter clinic as soon as I can. As well as her one year old daughter from her first litter. So far she hasn't gone into heat I believe and I am so grateful.

I'm waiting. We had the random pee and discharge coming soon. Ty for the refresher. We are super nervous bc last cat we had got scared bolted out the door (which she never goes outside once she got prego and rarely goes outside) ran out and got killed by a car while in labor...killing her and her kittens😫😭. So we had an empty house that was all set for babies and not momma, no babies so I fostered a prego cat and 4 kittens and kept a kitten. This kitten is the one whose giving birth. I went to get her fixed but it was too late. This time we keeping an eye that this one cant run outside. Prayers needed.

@@destiny9734 the birth didn't go well. We took her to vet BC we felt something wasn't right. He said no its normal. Another day still in labor, and weird actions, so I called and he said no she's fine. The next morning I said something unchristian like as I sat her on his desk. One look at me, then one look at my cat and "MOG she needs an emergency C section!" He took her and ran. Long story short she almost died because here he didn't even sow her up right when he sewed her up and she was bleeding afterwards for like 4 days and almost bled to death but thank God I had a friend who helped me say save her and she ended up having four kittens! she lost one each night though, until she only had one left. we had to bottle feed and poop and clean them because he cleaned my cat up so she didn't even know they were her kittens and she didn't want nothing to do with them but we ended up saving the very last one and it ended up being a special cutie male Calico who we now have decided to keep and his name is Buggers, as we call him Bugga-Bugga! He is so funny and very special to us and is the last perfect person to add to my forever family. Only thing is he doesn't know he is a cat. He's more like a mix of a human and dog. He learned dog traits off of my 3 pound 14 year old teacup Chihuahua, and human traits off of my man and I. He interacts with his mom and dad but looks at them like they're his cats. Lol. Oh well, all is God's plans.....we're just here for the ride and experience, and enjoying what life brings next!💜💖💓

My kitten was also pregnant and gave birth, her first baby was in the line of death due to her exit being small i told my mother for help and cut a little of the exit because her kitten is already safocating but she manage to get the kitten out for an hour and a half i was so glad that the first baby survive, i cant imagine my cat being devastated for her first baby

Bless you for caring for he pregnant kitten. We have rescue cats so they are already neutered but in the past I have owned females and always got them neutered. They bounce back really quickly. There are way too many unwanted kittens in this world so it's irresponsible to let pets become pregnant. I feel so bad for your kitten and what she went through. You are a very responsible owner

This is exactly what happened to us, 60 days ago. :/ a male cat stalked our house while she was in heat. We were so careful when leaving and entering our home because she would attempt to escape. Well later in the evening we lost track of her and found a hole in the screen of a back room. She came back early the next morning. Sure enough it was evident three weeks later she was pregnant. Appointments for spay were months out. Her appointment we made in May, is in September. I don’t think she will be able to make it to that one. We will reschedule.

We took in a stray a couple weeks ago, and shes so so young too. At this point it's only a matter of days till labor starts, and I can only hope it goes well

I knew when I got my Ruby I would need to nurture her - it was scary because she was my first female and she was the runt of her litter - vet wouldn't let her have the op until she was big enough. I passed Ruby to the nurses at the vets on 10th Jan at 8:30am. I told them she's my first girl n I'm worried about it, but they assured me it's routine and they reserved the best 'kennel' for her. 4pm came and I picked her up. She was given a tiny pink cone by the vets! She looked so sorry for herself. Sat came and I took her for her check up to see how the stitches were healing, and they were amazed! Proud mama I was

I just found out a stray cat I've taken in is VERY pregnant. Thank you so so so much for this video! It's helped me understand what I'll have to do when the time comes. Hey I actually just took in a kitten no more than 6 months old and found out shes pregnant do you know if there were age specific complications?

That is my problem right now. We thought we saw a stray kitten. She was so skinny and small so we started feeding her. One day I come home from work and theres a note on my steps. I was from the owners of the kitten that we thought was a stray. They said if the kitten goes into our home to let them know. I thought that was weird. I then realized that this kitten never went inside and she wasnt fixed. She came to us one day kind of round. We then realized that she was pregnant. I immediately got mad because not only do you not let this poor kitten inside but you didnt get her fixed and now she is barely 6 months old and shes pregnant. She is in labor as we speak. I can not take this cat to the vet if something goes wrong because she has owners. Bad owners but she has owners. i just feel so helpless and so bad this poor kitten.

I need some tips. My cat ran away during her heat cycle, meaning she'll most likely return pregnant. I know I am feeble-minded for not having her spayed. She escaped yesterday night, and hopefully returns soon. x Tips needed x

O my goodness. Your story is so near to mine ! So I have this kitten come around my apartment shes already about 4 to 5 month. My kids see a beautiful cat and want to feed her ..ok understanding but once you be friend a cat or and wild animal to grow to care for them. So she a cat that's us to running around I decided to start letting her in my home at night then let her roam the streets during the day. I didn't think the cat would have gotten pregnant because she had a nice neck collar on when we found her so I thought because this is some one cat they wouldnt let her out knowing the cat will be impregnate! She wasnt fixed and she started acting sick when I noticed something was wrong three weeks later hers showing nipples are out and I'm so scared

I've brought in a heavily pregnant stray. She's been in my yard and had several litters that she always brought to the food. She is clearly ready to pop. I feel movement and can even feel their heads and arms. When do you think she'll deliver?

Lydia Reyes ah so exciting!!! I am not sure!! The cat welfare centre told me that she was due to give birth any day...but she was with us for a good few months!! I think she was holding out to make sure she settled in and felt safe enough to have her babies here. The big sign for me was nesting. She kept going under the bed and scratching around. Miranda Kitty the only reason we couldn't spay her to begin with is it took over 2 years to earn her trust enough to put her in the house.

That is not true . Your smell does not effect the mom at all. It’s amazing that cats have been able to have kittens all the years without humans helping.

Around July 13-2020 two cats showed up at our home. One female and then a male. I tried to find the owners but nobody can forward to clam either one, so we have kept them and have been feeding them, about two weeks ago the female got a belly on her and we now have a pregnant young cat. He nipples are pink and perked up now, Im a bit of a nervous wreck about her having kittens. I have been doing a lot of video watching trying to know what to do when this all comes about. We are making her a a maternity room in an unused bedroom. where it will be very quiet and peaceful for her, I pray all goes good for her, I'm sure she will do much better than me. I love animals, and I think it's a shame that people have these poor pets and toss them out like they do. I have no idea where this cat came from or how long she was out on her own here in the country where I live. I mean there are all kinds of wild animals that kill cats and dogs. She's so young not even a year old. praying all goes well with her kittens. Thanks for sharing this video, much love to you.

I don’t know how old my cat is though but she looks like a year old and she just had her babys She had 5 kittens

So my cat is going to give birth. Is it bad that I won't let her sleep with me because I'm worried about getting the carpet/bed dirty? I feel bad but I also lose sleep worrying about her. It's not bad but for anyone saying she's wrong, you're just as bad. There's no reason for kitty to birth in her bed. Just make her a bed with a big box or bin and sheets that can get dirty. The kitty will thank you more.

I was 13 when my pregnant cat had her baby next to me she was laying down next to me cuddleing i hear her make a noise then boom she had a baby on my bed the momma got killed 😢 i kept 3 of her babies one went missing so i have 2 now on July 4 my cat had her babies she had 5 fluffy kittens in my room but in a box 😇 n the other cat got nuetered 4 days ago

Thank you for this video! I wonder how they are doing now. It's been a few years. I'm fostering a stray that lived at my job for the past couple months and her tummy is a bit extended. I'm more reading to see if maybe she is pregnant and she sees the vet in two days. Thank you again!

hello ma'am. i just got to know that we need to expell the placenta and should nt let her lick it as it can be harmful.so can u please suggests what do i do right aftr a kitten has come out from her?

I’m trying to help my cat deliver right now I’m a guy and love my cat but this is seriously intense 2 down had to cut one cord and save the kitten it was in a precarious spot and momma couldn’t get her I heard the meowing and saved it she’s restarted licking it and both are looking healthy don’t know how many more I’m going to be blessed with but wish me luck =^.^=

looper911 A9 Don't be scared unless she's displaying issues with being pregnant. Make her a birthing area or two in comfortable quiet area soon. Not sure how far along she is now but cats go through gestation pretty quickly. Pay attention to when she eats and drinks since they usually don't eat a lot right before giving birth. You'll see her stomach sortof clench here and there. Contractions are pretty quick, birthings can take up to 16 hours. Anything more than 20-24 hours, or more than 6-8 gap between babies with distress, take her to a vet.

I went to my friends house once. She told me that it was close to when she would be giving birth when I got there and I told her to get ready because she was in labour already. She didn't believe me until I got a box ready and she had her first baby. She had 8 kittens(5 while I was there). She did it all pretty much on her own as well. Two of them came back to back within 10 minutes of each other, so I helped her clean one off a bit with a damp rag.

All this and u nor any one cat person/breeder mentions to watch your pregnant cat doesn’t lay in the litter box to give birth😡😡😡
