7.5 years ago I was adopted by a cat looking similiar to him. I lost her to illness 6 months ago. I won‘t forget her- her name: Marie.

I'm a big fan of Tuxedo cats. I've had three in my life...Puddin' Face, Oreo, and Gazette (like a newspaper).

This cat is so chill. He's like, "I'm comin' in now." then he's "OK, I'm done. Later." He totally chose the right guy. Their chemistry is adorable. 😍

Take one from a stripper whose landlord won’t let her keep it. It was a Siamese kitten she bought and tried to hide in her apartment. You can’t keep a Siamese secret. It was tiny and yowled when she left it. I immediately took it when offered and had Sapphire until she died at 17. She was like my daughter.

🤣🤣He will learn. Its obvious he's new to the world of cats. I'm 65 now and have been owned by cats since I was 4 years old. Our current 5 are truly wonderful owners. One of our Tuxie Twins just caught a mouse Monday, only one of 4 suicide by cats that we've had in 40 years in this house. Snoopy didn't want to share with his brother Scooby-Doo or his sisters Nosey Rosey Parker, Shelly the Ginger Menace, or Jazmine the ferret cat. So we had a complete madhouse as Snoop was running all through the house with his new "toy" and trying to keep it away from the others. Total chaos!

@@tonyjones629 when I was a kid we had a Siamese. Tingling the dingaling. She would catch lizards, and turn them loose in the house to play with. Mom hated it and yelled at her for it. Then one day Ting brought home a live snake. Mom was phobic about snakes. When she saw the snake slithering across the kitchen floor and Ting just watching she started screaming and shrieking so loud i think neighbors two streets away could hear. And though Mom wasn't athletic in the least she managed to get up onto the countertop. Pop wasn't home so she made me go get our neighbor to remove the reptile. Mom's screaming traumatized poor Ting, she never brought back a toy to share after that.

Our dear Tuxie was DETERMINED to be our cat. She belonged if you could call it that to someone else who turned her outside. She homed in on us and went in for the kill. We had the best cuddle bug for 12 years and miss the Queen Tuxie every day.

It’s so true, if a cat chooses to hang out with you it’s a big deal. Cats do their own thing and feel your energy. Beautiful story! 💛☀️

I would just let the cat come in from the start But the “if this is your cat, he’s cheating on you.” Missing poster was pretty rad.

Love that intense look when you're sleeping and he's staring at you. He's not going to miss anything that happens, that's for sure!

I definitely understood the being unable to sleep properly and the whole tossing and turning thing. The moment I got my kitty, Shadow, she'd help me sleep much better. She'd jump down onto my bed as I was getting ready to go sleepies and lay between my arm and my ribs, just kneading and kneading softly, it was so relaxing and helped me go from taking hours to fall asleep to only taking minutes

They actually look alike somehow. Hard to explain, but there's something about the way they both look. Funny and charming to see.

I love how this cat basically found someone it wanted to be friends with, and then just claimed as family.

I haven't owned a cat in awhile, but I still get that phantom cat feeling. Whenever I wake up, I could swear there's a cat laying on me, in the same spot where my cat would sleep. Usually on my stomach. I think she knew that sleeping on my stomach would enhance my need to pee, thus getting me out of bed in order for her to claim the warm spot.

Bojangles is much like almost every stray I have "adopted." We think WE are the ones deciding to become family. In reality, the cat finds and selects us. And once they move in, they establish the daily routine and train us to follow it. It seems to work. So why fight the system?!?

What a lovely and smart man. He was so good to make sure that Bojangles wasn't two timing another family. Cats are very good are networking a neighborhood. When I lived in London, the cat from next door was always coming into my house, lying around the kitchen, asking for the tap to be put on for a drink of water. Then he had an operation and had to stay inside for a couple of months. My neighbors told me that they kept coming into the room their cat was recuperating in, and finding MY cat sitting there with him...visiting. They weren't sure how my cat even got in, as they'd locked their cat flap. They were pleased and very surprised, as their cat had the reputation of being the bully cat in the neighborhood, who all other cats were afraid of and wouldn't go near. But it turned out my big floppy super friendly cat simply hadn't noticed that their cat was the local tough guy and had befriended him. He would sit will the recuperating cat for hours, clean him, and snuggle with him.

Cat: "I will own this hooman right here." *Does stakeout*

"it wasn't a matter of, do I keep him? He wants to stay here. He's my cat now." Almost every cat parent I've met (myself included) find their baby this way. I've only known a very very small handful of people who went out looking for a cat to adopt. They usually find us, and we eventually just accept that they choose us. This man is such a wonderful soul.

Ah yes…Bojangles is clearly a master at conditioning his human target. He knows a good thing when he sees it, but he gave the human ample time to adjust,. Training in increments…the feline way. Now they both have a very, very good thing. As it should be.

This cat looks identical to my late cat Snowball. He was so sweet in personality and very loving. He lived for over 20 human years. I miss him so much.

Cats inviting themselves into our lives is pretty much how they got domesticated. He's doing his ancestors proud.

Cats are the BEST cuddlers.

I fostered a cat and her kittens. I ended up adopting the mother who looks just like this cat. She died five years ago at age 3 from cancer. To this day I can't see a tux cat without crying because Flora was so special to me. I pray that she and I will be reunited one day in heaven.

It's bizarre we have had a tuxedo cat just like that one that showed up on our porch like he lived here. Our housecat immediately accepted him so he's part of the family now. Very cool cat!

My cat did the same thing he would watch us from our back porch. We could shew him away. I loved him he was abandoned by our neighbor but it was a gift to our family. We had him for about 17 years before he became very ill from blood clots and heart failure and we had to put him down. I miss him so. Graham was the best cat ever.

I guess the word got out in the hobo cat community. LoL Since my original comment, another cat showed up! It is a skinny male tiger.. we're going to feed him and hopefully once we gain his trust get him to the vet for rabies shot and an exam.

I think a lot of people get cats this way. My last 4 cats all just "showed up" and stayed!

When she was younger, she used to comfort me when I was laughing really hard because she thought I was crying. Lmao She'd just see my scrunched up face and laughter tears and think "OMG NO! What's wrong!? You were so happy a second ago!!" This would only make me laugh harder, of course.

You know you are very special when a cat chooses you!

My mom always said cats adopt you. You don't ever adopt them.

The love and trust of a kitty especially one that has endured life outside is the greatest gift! I know for a fact, cuzz my rescue baby Lili is staring at me as I write this comment. She’s been with us almost 10 years! I don’t know how I could live without her. God please keep her with us forever!

Bless you for taking her in. I just brought in a feral kitten that I bonded with one week ago today. If you didn't know it, you would never guess that she lived outside. Have been feeding her since she was old enough to eat solid food and over the last few weeks, she started letting me pet and hold her. It's like she was meant to be my kitty. Aside from having Roundworms (which is common) she was deemed healthy. Am so grateful that she chose me!

So sweet! Tuxedo cats have their own personality don’t they! Mine was named Fred, he slept on my chest too!

I’m taking home a stray from my friend’s house tomorrow. She’s just so cute and sweet. I can’t resist!

I hope you are doing better now! If you don’t have a pet currently I’d highly recommend one, my rescue boy I got from the pound has helped me so much that I haven’t been sad about being single much since I got him. Gives me someone else to focus on:) though you may have kids or already have pets so in that case sorry for rambling about how much mine has helped me 🤣

My grandma adopted all of her cats this way. One of them wouldn’t stop hopping the fence into her yard until she let him in, and another figured out that she had the back window open and kept breaking in. Lmao

"Stray cat cases the joint until HE decides to move in" ~ Title fixed.

My cat, Micky, who looked exactly like THIS cat got 'adopted' by my neighbors too, unbeknownst to ME. A few years later they were moving and I saw my cat in a cage about to be loaded up into their van. I said: THERE YOU ARE! The lady said: Is THIS your cat??? I said yes, for years now already. She was very sad to leave him behind, but we exchanged numbers and I promised to keep her abreast of his 'new' life. Unfortunately, very shortly after they moved, he came down with feline cancer and died. Both of us were devastated at our common loss. He was a beautiful boy and we miss him terribly. 💞

Sounds like you both had joint custody ... ... by him, of course ... RIP, Micky ... you may have gone over the Rainbow Bridge, but your indelible pawprints are still left behind ...

I knew someone with two cats that moved into a 20 unit apartment complex. A few months later he was having dinner at one of his neighbor's apartments and his cats came in through their open window....his neighbor proceeded to say that he rescued two strays a couple months ago. Awkwardly the man explained that they're actually his cats. By the end of the year 12 out of the 20 units believed that they were these cats' owners. The situation came to light fully when there was a bbq picnic in the courtyard for all the residents. And each of the tenants had different names for those kitties but the kitties always responded. The night of the bbq the cats went from person to person getting loves and snacks but after a bit they curled up on their actual owner's lap and went right to sleep to the shock of several people there.

Bojangles and Adrian needed each other. The cat knew; eventually, the human caught on. Lovely story.

He looks just like Tequila, my neighbour's cat who adopted me too. It's great to have someone happy to see me that comes running for strokes and cuddles when I sit on my veranda since I had to give up my cats (long sad story). He's even a mixture of my 2 cats personalities and quirks, I adore him :)

Tuxedo cat, their the best! Loaded with personality!
