Poor cat was trying so hard to get away and give birth in peace😥

I agree with the viewers below that the greatest source of pain and stress for the mother is the yapping owner. This is a perfect example of what not to do when a cat gives birth. By taking the kittens away from the mother you remove them from a very important source of heat they badly need. You are a genuine threat to the kittens’ survival.

This is a video mostly about what not to do, when your cat has kittens. Don't harass the mother. Don't try to cram her into a tiny space, don't take her babies away from her. This is really a video tribute to poor Betty, who gave birth under such difficult circumstances.

Yeah, some people are just completely useless and stupid.

As a person who has raised cats all my life, you should never separate the kittens from their mother.

You obviously love kitty very much, but you’re stressing her out by not leaving her alone. Beautiful cat and babies. Just let her do her thing next time. ❤️

Thank u for saying that. It actually is annoying the crap outta me. The poor cat keeps trying to get away from her. She’s not actively listening to her cat. I mean does the cat have to actually form words for her to get it? The cat crying broke my heart a little. N her trying to stop her from moving away from the damn camera. She made this experience about herself n her needs. Not about what was essential n less stressful for the kitty. I mean u can pet her a lil, but rubbing her belly constantly, n stopping her from doing what she needed to do, is just.....ughhhhh. & the fact she keeps picking up n holding the cats. Hmm why don’t u just see if they’re ok & breathing. But personally I think she should’ve left the mum to do what she needed. And to form the bond n so the kittens can drink from their mum.

Mom definitely doesn't like people touching her newborns. She probably doesn't mind the company, but just let her do her thing.

Stop being mean people in the comments. Maybe this girl didn’t know. At least she’s not abusing them! She now knows. She has a sweet voice and is helping the kittens. Non of them died so just chill. If another cat has kittens, she’ll know not to do it. Do you hear how she’s talking to the cats? Very very sweet. Beautiful cat and kittens :)

Lisa Gernat I agree with you! People are being so mean & she was just trying to help, she said she wished she could share her pain & felt bad for her. Yes during the last stage when the first baby was coming out ,the cat didn’t want to be touched & wanted to move but she didn’t want the baby to fall on the floor and get hurt. You can tell she really loves her cat & took good care of the babies in the end💕

Watching kittens grow up is one of the amazing things you can experience.

I was SO STRESSED watching this I couldn’t continue. You are not supposed to pet and touch a cat in active labour/that is giving birth! And certainly not move them. If she is trying to leave to go to a different spot - let her. And wear gloves the entire birth.

This lady thinks she a mid wife 😂

I heard on other cat birthing videos (yes...for some reason, I REALLY like to watch kittens being born) that it was natural for cats in labor to walk around scouting out a place for her to feel comfortable enough give birth, and that we should LET her do it. You're very attentive to her. That's very sweet.

Closet and a bunch of towels is always a good idea

Touching them during birth could slow down the process. The mother also chooses where she wants to give birth, you should have left her alone. Since she went to you she only wanted that reinsurance that she's okay. Saying, 'good girl' or telling her she's doing good would help.

What a relief to come across your video, my kitty is pregnant for the first time too now and coincidently we call her Betty as well :) I was worried abit about how to prepare for her pregnancy properly so that she has the most comfortable atmosphere during this phase and I had no clue how to do it and thats when I found your video :D. Now I feel happy and confident... Thank you so much. Your kittens and the momma Kitty is so adorable. They must be big already now :D

And also I must admit that when it comes to nursing or any medical assistance, I can just close my eyes and trust you beautiful ladies from the Phillipines, you just can't go wrong being the best care taker and that is my personal experience.. Just give her a bit of space when she gives birth. Don't tuch untill next morning after all kitties have been delivered. Also take to the vet if after her being in labor for an hour and there are no kittens cus then kittens are stuck. Also it's handy to know how many she is having so u know if one gets stuck. It's pretty common and that can hurt the mother. Or you can just pay the vets to help with delivery.eather way. Good luck! ( Idk if I'm late idk how long cat pregnancy is)

You should probably watch more videos. & Read the comments here.. switching up the birthing spot,continuously touching her &. Then taking her. Kittens are all the things you shouldnt do! This poor momma cat was ssoo anxious trying to get away while pushing out baby #1 😢 she naturally knows what to do & doesn't need help unless the babies get stuck...I would do more research.

Omg!!... and why ru separating the kittens from their mother?? They should be bonding and latching on to mom... not to mention their nursing on mom also helps with labor and contractions!! PLEASE... NEVER DO THIS WITH ANOTHER CAT... Betty would've cleaned and took care of her OWN BABIES!!!

You did a good job trying to comfort her and making sure there were towels under her. It’s a little stressing listening to her cry out in pain. I would of called my vet just for advice on how to know what to do in case the kitten was stuck or something. You did a good job and congratulations to mama cat! 😻

Make sure you have a box in a warm private place, preferable in a dark place. When its time leave her in privacy to allow her to give birth naturally.

I love that you have gloves but from how she looked squirming around trying to get away from you that maybe you were giving her a lil too much love.....she looked alot better in the carriage to were you couldn't rub her as much. I could feel the level of her pain in your voice. Your a good owner. Bless her lil heart. Congrats

Please put the babies near the mom. The babies are supposed to be trying to nurse. This is very important for the mom and babies. PLEASE!

Your not suppose to clean the kittens it's the queens instinct to clean them up you really should of just left her to it

Was the first one breech? That was what probably hurt her so much, besides the first time giving birth. I'm glad you put her in a more spacious place, but her being in pain, did you have to touch her so much? I don't think any person in a lot of pain would like to be touched excessively. It's like leave me alone. Just let her wander where she wants. And when on the first birth she keeps trying to lick her vagina, you don't need to guide her. Leave her alone. She has cat instincts, she'll figure it out! I once read some cats let you touch it, while others don't like it. And it seems it would make the pain a lot worse if you touch her when she does not want to be touched.

it is clear that the cat does not want to be patted on the belly and you never stop. poor cat.

cats do need their space when in labour and they need lots of room, plus its normal for the pregnant cat to move around. Just be mindful this next time. Beautiful kittens though

My cat JUST NOW gave birth to a kitten on my bed and I saw 100s of videos but mine was the most quiet because I think you shouldn’t stress her out

Maybe after all these other people left criticism you could be nice since this was posted in 2018 and she’s already heard all of this and besides, She only made a couple of errors when the cat showed that she wanted to be left alone by doing a warning nip motion. she continued to try to comfort her, but the cat seem to enjoy and want to comfort at other moments and she only put her in the basket again to protect the babies and falling on the hard floor but then when she realized that that wasn’t helping she let her be on the towel on the floor because she realized it was best and was ready with that soft paper making sure there is a soft place for the baby, She is a good and caring Cat mom.

Glad you put her in a Carrier. I think she needed more privacy. It's also a good idea to get the other animals out of the room. Worrying for her kittens with the other animals there is gonna stress her out more than anything

You give them nesting areas and let them choose where to give birth. Petting is helpful if they need it, but really, they rarely need help. Ours is having her first litter soon. She's always in our bed and will probably have them there. She has a basket but won't get in it unless it's on our bed. I told my husband she's going to birth pressed up against one of us, but we no better than to handle the babies before they're weaned. Never be intrusive unless a baby is struggling. I had a cat 12 years ago that tried to eat her firstborn, and though I gave her a nesting area, she chose to have them in my room on my brand new carpet. I did manage to get them on a blanket so she could have the rest on that, and very slowly moved the blanket under my nightstand so I could keep an eye on them. They were moving all over the room at 2 weeks. I have more confidence in my cat who's pregnant now. She's going to be a good mother, because she was with her own mother for 3 1/2 months before being rehomed.

… only an ignorant person would force a cat to give birth inside a caged cat carrier. Cats NEED room to give birth. The owner should’ve done research on cat pregnancy, or talked to a Vet.

Beautiful cat. But stop stressing her out. She obviously wanted to birth some where she preferred more, it’s not about u. It’s about her n her babies. I saw some comments about oh “what if you can’t find where she goes bla bla.” All u had to do was watch her closely, but stop touching. & if u have seen cats give birth then u shouldn’t be astonished by her panting. It happens. Some cats do it more, some less. And I saw some other comments about , “oh it’s her cat. She knows what she wants. The cat wants her around”...... uh no. It would be obvious if the cat was following her around constantly, then yes she wanted her around. But she constantly touching her, and around her & stopping her from doing what she, the cat wants! The cat was constantly moving away from her hands. I don’t know how much clearer you gotta be. The cat is less than a year old, of bloody course she’s in pain. Hmm maybe have her give birth with a vet. So that if they needed to intervene, they could’ve. It really REALLY angers me that the poor kitty, is basically like crying. & she just won’t let. her. be. No one said u couldn’t watch. & no 1 said you couldn’t pet her once in awhile on her head & chin. But come on now! Stop touching, stop touching her belly. Stop pulling up her tail to see..... she obviously did not want to give birth in the small ass basket, nor did she wanna give birth in the carrier.

I am very late with my comment on this video, but whoever may read this looking for advice, please NEVER do what this lady did. Let the cat be. Give her space while giving birth. If you’re going to keep an eye out for her, do it from a good distance. While also letting her know you are there. But don’t stress her out more than she might already be. Most cats do not like this. And never take the kittens from the mother. And never handle the kittens too rough ether. The mother will clean her kittens herself. It’s a nature thing.

my mom had a cat like that, her name was zoey, she gave birth to a baby female kitten(we also thought she was a boy till my mom's friend discovered she was a girl), the kitten's name we gave her was Frodo until we found out she was a girl. We renamed her Froda, but zoey died a few years later

(ugh! Im so nervous for my foster.. she is halfway through the pregnancy... And she is SO big.. She has a sway back when walks already.. only 2 ninnies are pink.. but my fuck, is she growing fast!). Itll be her time next month... Strangely enough that is the anniversary of last yr when my 13 yr old furry best friend went to heaven.. i think its God and his way of saying "its ok to let go and love again"... Its a strange and beautiful feeling.

It was good that you had gloves on in the beginning but why did you take them off? Cats do not want human scent on their newborns and the gloves would have prevented your human smell on them.
