That's a proud mama kitty right there.

My cat chose me as her midwife. She was actually a stray kitten, less than a year old. We took her in before she was pregnant, escaped, came back pregnant and just really trusted me. The day she was in labor, if I left the room for anything, she would follow. It was her first time so she was afraid and needed help. In fact, I saved 2 of her kittens from dying. They grew to be very big and strong.

From what I could see, you let the mama cat do everything herself, breaking the skin, cleaning of all materials. Nice to see. No one taking the kitten's away for cleaning, It helps the mama to bond very strongly with her kittens when she gets to clean them, placental and everything.

this is actually really common, they really dont understand that only mommas nipples give food, but kittens will suckle on almost anything soft or warm when they're hungry or stressed. I have raised a lot of orphaned infant kittens, and one of my older ones was in bed with me and she started to suckle my nipple! ofc I pushed her off, but It gives them a lot of comfort and feelings of safety. I'll let them suckle on my arm for a while , but also it let's you know you need to get the bottle 😂

You could see the happiness in her eyes. She looks like a proud mother. She did great.

I left my car window open overnight and in the morning I was blessed to find Momma and 4 kittens in the back seat. I took it as a compliment too.

I think i was about 12 years old when I saw our cat Dusty give birth. It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. I’m 62 years old now and this made me cry happy tears. Thank you, this was beautiful.

My grandma’s cats give birth to a box in a quiet place that’s a bit dim but not really isolated so they can check out if the cat’s okay. When the delivery is happening the cat would meow very loudly to tell us it’s happening

How it’s like being a mom

Your cat is unbelievably adorable and the fact that she lets you pet her shows how much she trusts and loves you ❤️

I have had the honor of watching two of my cats give birth. Both times they meowed for me to come to their birthing box to see. I let them do it by themselves and was just there with an occasional pet and reassuring words. Beautiful experience. Beautiful kittens!

I guess the best thing you can do is keep the mom comfortable. Find a safe, quiet space to give birth, and when the time comes, if there are no complications, let the mom do all the work. She couldn't have looked more pleased and proud, and for good reason...they're all gorgeous!

Witnessed a litter of kittens being born once. That was about 20 years ago. It was the cat of my then-gf‘s mother. We were sitting in the kitchen at the time. For some reason the cat kept brushing up against my leg and started yowling. I did not immediately connect the dots but then she walked around the corner, looked back around and gave me the longest meow I had ever heard. I then followed her to the cat bed. She was still meowing and started panting shortly after. In very quick succession, four kittens were born. Mommy cat knew what to do and started cleaning the first one immediately. One of the kittens basically landed right in my hand. It was completely limp and not moving. Started rubbing it with a towel, and the little one came round shortly after. Mommy came to pick it up off my hand. This was a very memorable moment, and I can still see this little kitten in my hand and me rubbing it vigorously. I still feel honored that the cat apparently chose me to be with her. My then gf and me broke up shortly after. Several months later I visited friends who I knew had adopted one of the kittens in the mean time. The little cat came running towards me, climbed up my leg and curled up on my lap within seconds of me sitting down. Was then told that this was not common behavior because she was usually very shy around strangers and would hide for at least the first hour or two. Turns out, this was the limp little kitten I had caught. I like to think the cat somehow remembered me. Might be unrelated, though. No idea if cats work that way. But it was very sweet.

Humans have a much harder job you know, having to squeeze a giant brain through a pelvis sufficiently narrow to allow us to walk upright, and cats often cry out in pain while giving birth. Female spotted hyenas probably suffer more than anyone, as they squeeze pups out through their clitoris, their maternal/newborn death rate is pretty high.

Aww, she's so sleepy in the end. I have mad respect for cat and how they give birth, cleaning each kitten and doing all of the work themselves with no pain meds. I do think as women, we do stretched quite a bit more as our babies are quite a bit bigger LOL but nevertheless, it's painful either way. And they have to push out up to eight kittens! **MAD RESPECT**

I remember when my dilute tortoiseshell gave birth to 5 babies. She was barely even showing, so we had no idea how far along she was, til one night before I woke up for work (night shift) she was scratching at my chest and face. She must have known, because she started yowling and kind of growling at the same time. I told my girlfriend TO RUN and get a clean towel and a damp cloth and some gloves just in case. She birthed 5 baby bundles of joy, and she was such a good mama cat. She'd always bug me when I'd be near her birthing box because she wanted to show me her babies. She is a weird cat, so we got nervous she might eat them, but she did so good. I cried uncontrollably, partly due to happiness and partly because it made me sad to hear her crying from labor. As soon as I turned the light on to see why she was crying so loud, she had her #1 hanging out of her kitty parts! I had never seen an animal birth before and I was a happy crying mess. Then, a week later, my calico cat gave birth to her own litter! It was probably the most pure joy I've ever felt in my life, seeing an animal, my animal, giving birth to her own babies. I'm tearing up looking at my baby girly Onyxia. I got her as a present for getting off of opiates, and I've had her ever since. She's the only constant companion I have. Girlfriends have came and went, but my little Onny bear has always been there.

I like before the second one she has a look like “ok I think I got this now” and then presto another little baby.

Happy Healthy Heathen There’s probably multiple good reasons woman don’t have litters. Unfortunately, the reason animals have multiple young at a time is because they’re food for other animals or their survival rate in the wild for whatever reason demands multiple births to keep the species alive. Then again it seems the main factor is how long the young take to fully mature. Even in the wild animals that have young with long maturation times have just one.

About 3 1/2 years ago we adopted a feral born tamed kitten. We were getting her shots and all, age four months, and she got out on us. Surprise, I didn’t know that a female cat could come into heat at four months. I prepared to midwife. 8 one night, she got on our bed, had no clue what was happening, and started passing breech kittens. I had to help them into the world, help clean, and count placentas. This queen reminded me so much of that night. Even that one look part ways through. Kittens are so precious. This queen did so well. Such big heathy kittens. And what a purr. My little queen was supposed to be neutered because she was a half Persian grey tuxedo, she just surprised me. Thank you, for the nice memories of my little girl and seeing your precious little purries.

This is good, you let the cat do its own thing whilst giving birth, i find this is the best way to let a pet give birth since the kids will instantly recognize the mother cat as the mother, we also did this to our Norwegian Forest Cat Pluis and she loved the fact she had kids!

Our cat gave birth to 6 under my mum's bed (as everyone says, you put in so much effort making a safe space for labour and she just goes somewhere else lol) and she was under there with the kitties for the first two days. But the strangest part of it all, the thing me and my family will never forget, is that for some reason... the newborn kittens smelt like fried chicken loool

She's such a cute cat. Love her voice. When she was panting, she also looked like she was smiling.

Congratulations!! What a beautiful blessing. I love cats and have been involved with several births. The birthing process never ceases to both amaze me and fill me with wonder and a deep reverence for life. I thank our Heavenly Father for these beautiful creatures, and I thank you for sharing such a deeply personal process with us.

By just giving birth to the first one, you can already determine how kind the momma cat is to her babies.

She is such a sweet mama and her kittens are so precious!

Nothing quite as beautiful and uplifting as seeing new life being born! It always makes my heart sing. Thank you for sharing. I do hope that they all found loving forever homes.

This is one of the cutest cat videos, I have ever seen...❤❤❤. The cat mom is a wondetful girl and she is very proud of her lovely kittens.

Beautiful babies mama. I couldn’t help comparing this mama squeezing out 5 babies, comfy box, towels down for the mess, she does everything including cleaning her babies, disposing of placenta, no epidural, quiet area, no blafing lights, completely opposite what a woman goes through and without the horrific hospital bill. Obviously they aren’t giving birth to X pounds worth of kids but it’s all relative. Congratulations to the new mom!
