Casting Flexible Urethane Foam in a 3d printed mold.

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Using a 3d printed mold to make flexible urethane foam parts. The print was made from PLA on the Creality CR-10S5. the foot pattern, mold and core were created in zbrush. The foam I ended up using in the end was a self skinning foam from Motion Picture FX Company which was tinted with Smooth-On So-Strong urethane pigments.

This video is super helpful! Thank you for documenting this stuff! I don't see any information from Motion Picture FX on the expansion of their foam and was wondering how you figured that out?

it never occurred to me that i could 3d print the mold instead of the actual think, and put silicone on it now to actually get a 3d printer- Im not too worried about the final look of the casted piece, thankfully. Since it's just going to be covered with cloth materials that will more or less hide any mild imperfections

@@richardedwards2741 i would say a lot of wax release agent, or, a light layer of silicone brushed very thin

10 hours?! How is that possible?! Is that a high speed, high layer height?

Usually .3mm layer height and a .8mm nozzle helps speed things up like crazy.
