Casio Solar Diver-style Watch MTP-S110 Band Replacement
Ғылым және технология
This video features the Casio MTP-S110-2AVCF Diver-style solar-powered watch. (Here is my In Depth review of the watch... • Casio Diver Style Sola... ) There is another version of this watch with a slightly different color scheme. Both versions of this come with resin watch bands. To my knowledge (as of mid-2020) there is no "stock" version of this watch with a metal bracelet. I decided to have some fun with a minor modification.
While it should be possible to put any number of watch bands, straps and bracelets on this watch, I decided to look for a genuine Casio replacement for the stainless steel bracelet that used to come with the Duro model MDV106 (also known as the Marlin). I did that and, presto! It was a perfect fit on this watch. If you can’t find a bracelet made for the MDV106 you might try the bracelet made for an MTD-1079D. That has a slightly different pattern on the metal but it should still fit, since I know the MDV106 band will fit on an MTD-1079.
Keep in mind that the most difficult part of this modification was the sometimes-simple task of removing a couple of links from the bracelet so that it would fit my average-size wrist. After making most of this video I realized that the method I was using was wrong. I had decided to improvise using tools I already had sitting around the house. After exerting so much effort that my fingertips were sore, I guessed that, somewhere out there in the world, there must be a tool made specifically to remove these kinds of links. I found one and ordered it so that, next time, I won't have to struggle as much to work with links like this. I plan to make another video soon in which I'll utilize the specific type of pliers that are best for taking those links out.
Update: Here's a video in which I remove a couple of links from this bracelet using a dedicated T-Bar removal pliers tool. • Watch Link T-Bar Remov...

I am debating whether to replace the original black resin band with a stainless steel bracelet! But this video really help understanding how to replace, but mainly the information on how to search for the correct stainless steel bracelet. Thanks!!
Hi Greg It's always a pleasure to watch one of your videos there all so informative , I've just ordered my first Wave Ceptor the champagne dial WVA-M630-9AJF from Japan can't wait to get it , I would have liked one in this colour with Roman numerals but couldn't find one but I'll be more than happy with the one I've ordered, thanks again.
Thank you for another excellent review! Looking forward to the follow-up video.
The distance across the watch end of the bracelet is called Lug Width. Great video- I just ordered that watch (except in black) and I plan to put a Hirsch Carbon leather strap on it- in black with red stitching. Looking forward to it! Great video.
Would you have the web link for this band in order to get one
I have two Casio Duro's, black bezel and the pepsi bezel. I purchased metal bracelets for the both of them and they look stunning- however I dare not wear them in public due to criminals who are looking for targets that have stunning silver watches on their wrist. I do wear them to work but not for everyday errands. I did get the Casio MTP-S110 and kept it on the stock band that I can safely wear in the public. Thanks to you for your videos that provide a wide look at these great Casio products !

i think the mtp is the better pick over the duro because of the solar battery i mean like, it should last like minimum 10yrs or more, meanwhile duro normal 2-3 battery life span i guess
Your videos are so helpful
very well explained, totally usefull. Thanks!
These cheap bracelets are Hell to work with. Most of the time the folded links are genuine arm hair pullers too. It looks ok, better than a black rubber band. Good luck with both Greg!

So far so good. My arm hairs are still in place with this. I think the fact that it does NOT fold up to be completely flat means the links are a bit tight together and maybe that means the hairs can’t get between the links very much. We’ll see. I’m hoping the special pliers I ordered will make link removal super easy, but I will let you know.
It seems amazing!
I love your videos. Thank you!
What’s the item number for the Casio branded metal band that would fit this watch? I bought a generic brand band but it didn’t fit correctly at all. It wouldn’t go in.
Thank you for the tips 👍
I have the black version of this watch. It's awesome. Thin. Light. Solar powered. Set it, forget it.
Hi im having trouble finding an original bracelet from the MTD-1079D and the MDV106. Is there a site you can recommend to source one? Thanks! (PS Im actually going ti use this bracelet on the MTP-S120L-1AVCF)
As the octopus mother said, “Children, children, I only have eight hands!”
That style bracelet is a real torture to work with. Personally, I try to avoid them. Good video!

I’m hoping the t-bar removal pliers are as good as they say. They would certainly reduce the torture. My fingertips were sore for about 5 days after I fumbled around with this one for such a long time using improvised tools.
Hi, Where did you rind the Stainless band? Thanks
Can you make a video to release the spring bar with that kind stainless steel bracelet?
Where to you purchase t bar clip if lost
I love that your channel focuses on affordable pieces... luxury watches are overrated 😆

You can search for Casio part 10391237 and you may find it on eBay or another site. Also at PacParts... www.pacparts.com/part.cfm?part_no=10391237&mfg=Casio
Don't loose those black bands. Guarantee somewhere down the road you will want to throw them back on. Closer you get to the beach the more you think about it.
