    Thanks very much for your in depth description of the GSW H1000. You did a great job. I would like to buy it because I am looking for a watch that can read heart rate and I’m a regular mountain biker. I did use a normal heart rate monitor watch and after a couple of fall, the watch broke. This is something I’m looking for and I’m a fan of GS watch.

    Great video as usual, Dave! For the sleep on WearOS, I highly recommend the Sleep as Android. It has everything that you can possibly want with smart alarms and all other bells and whistles. However when compared with to a non-WearOS watch that 1 day battery life is abysmal. My Fenix 6x makes 8 days with more than an hour of GPS + 1h of workout a day and 24h HR. And when compared with my Solar powered Mudmaster G-shock, that 1 day is unacceptable... And especially now with the Samsung-picking-up-the-WearOS scenario developing in the background, this watch will be definitely a collectors-only piece. Which is a real shame though, as I truly like the aesthetics.

  • @ChaseTheSummit

    Thanks for sharing! Yeah the battery life is a bit of a bummer but it's kind of expected with the addition of Wear OS. For instance the Suunto 7 is a VERY similar watch (albeit way cheaper) and offers the same day-ish of battery life. Thanks for watching!

    For a watch of this caliber and price, no "Solar" means no sale for me. I've had a solar-powered Casio ProTrek for seven years and have, as yet, never needed to change the CTL1616 battery. Why Casio would omit this solar feature in this flagship model is hard to understand . . .

  • @ChaseTheSummit

    @ChaseTheSummit

    2 жыл бұрын

    I'd guess they didn't include solar because this watch is so power hungry with Wear OS that it wouldn't be able to put a dent in the power consumption. It would also add to the already high price... But that's just me speculating!

    Can you use the touch screen under water? No Can it have a battery replacement in years to come? Maybe? But probably unlikely. You'd need to contact G-SHOCK. How accurate is the altimeter vs none gps g shocks? Very similar Do you know if the gps is always on like a phone but not tracking your distance? GPS is turned off when not in use. Wear OS has an indicator on the watchface that tells you when it's in use. Does the map display footpath? It does if you're in the process of recording a GPS activity or have chosen a destination to navigate to. Can you buy a new charger if it breaks? I can't seem to find them on Amazon but I'm sure G-SHOCK would sell you one. mud proof? Yes Can you use the gps without having a phone with you? Yes

    G-shock fanboy, here. it pains me to say that when i VERY recently decided to buy a smartwatch with fitness tracking for training...i got myself a Fenix 6 Pro. sorry, but the software support, environment, battery life and other characteristics are simply not on par with the market has been developing in the past 6 or 7 years.

    Thanks for sharing! I think it's on par with the Wear OS market but it's definitely not a competitor to something like a Fenix in terms of sport watch functions. It's certainly a unique option!

    This battery life is a huge disappointment. Save your money!!!!!! Invest in a Fenix 6X Pro.

    Is the fenix 6x pro worth it if your a apple user ? And how. Is it now that you’ve had it for a long time ?

    That thing is hideous. Looks like the watch equivalent of the Hummer H2. I like the idea of calling it the Excavator though.
