I think I enjoy the commentary even more than the quiet videos, somehow.

Andy, I love your work. Your voice is relaxing to listen to. With a new born I don't have quite as much time as I would like to for carving but this content helps me keep the passion growing nonetheless! Thanks, keep up the good work, your amazing.

Mornin Andy! Great video. Drinking my coffee here this morning by the wood stove starting the day. Thanks for the technical instruction video and the positive energy!! That Silky Oak looks amazing!! I bet it would make some beautiful cabinet panels also. Hey what’s that timber in the video that’s in back of you to your left? It almost looks like Kauri.

Morning Vince, you might be referring to the Cherry slab? I have a bit of a spread behind me, so I'm not sure which you mean specifically. A good point though, I will have to do a little wood store video talking about my own stock 👌

Great video Andy. How do you decide whether to season a log or carve it green?

Hey there, that's basically down to how quickly you can work on it, and expect with different wood types. Some wood copes with seasoning better than others. Cherry and Birch are especially good. Things like Maple harden through the process pretty quickly, so it's best to carve that green. A lot of it is down to trial and error, but let me know if you have a specific species in mind 🙂

Which axe is your favorite, if you could choose only one ?

The frustrating answer to that is that I'm lucky I don't have to choose 😉 I have definitely carved the most spoons with this axe though

Im having a hard time deciding between this or the julia kalthoff

Weight is the massive consideration there, if you are not already comfortable with a heavy axe, I recommend the Kalthoff
