When you get into slot car racing, there is a bit more than just throwing your car on the track and going nuts. There is some maintenance you need to do to make sure your cars are always running at their best. Tire cleaning, axel cleaning, and other little things. If you want to learn a good way to perform these tasks on your cars, watch this video.

When putting metal screws in plastic, a good trick is to run the screw backwards first then forward to allow the screw to seat in the same threads as the original.

Get yourself a small squeeze bottle with a fine hypodermic size brass tube protuding from the top to make oiling parts on your cars easier to do. Truing the front tyres will give you a smoother ride when running without magnets in the car.

Hi thanks for the video. We run that same Porsche 911 RSR Proton #99 racing car (model 20030908) and it is literally twice as fast as anything else on the track. It spools up super quick and the max rpms are way higher than anything else. Out of 20 or so Carrera 132 digital cars we have this one is different so we are wondering if perhaps it has a different motor? We just got the new 911 RSR Proton Competition and put both cars side by side and coded to the same controller. The #99 runs more than twice as fast with the same throttle position as the new Proton. We observe the same effect with all other 132 cars in the collection. The #99 is crazy fast!!! Is there some setting to change the output? I can’t figure out why this one car is so much faster. Any insights you may have would be appreciated. Thx!

Possibly in the future currently I don’t have any that are bad but in better news it’s really easy on Carrera. If you go to Carreraslots.com and find the replacement headlight for your car there actually plug and play no soldering or anything.

Hi completely new to slot cars - bought a brand new Carrera 132 digital set for my son this Christmas, we have four cars and four wireless controllers. Any time we start racing we have an issue where the control unit seems to go into a frenzy - all lights flashing, cars come to a stop - very frustrating. I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting everything, I’ve tried with only a couple of cars, all cars, etc - all possible combinations - but it still keeps happening. As you can imagine not great when you have a 12yo kid that was extremely excited to begin with! Main unit is definitely pointing the right direction, same with lane changing track parts. When this happens the lights in the control unit seem to all go off, cycling through all lights for about 5 seconds, then lights in cars go back on and it lets you race again. Extremely annoying because it then seems to happen every few seconds. Hopefully something “easy” to sort?? All help much appreciated…

Wes.... got my track built and we are having a blast! I baffled by the difference in performance between cars even though the speed settings are the same? I should have taken off the detail bits as you suggested because the kiddos have wrecked the wings. How do you know when to replace the brushes? Keep the awesome videos coming!

Funny you use this exact car. I just got my kids the triple power set for Christmas. I got confirmation with the lap timer this car, versus the the lambo and ferrari and a ford GT ‘dad got, is an absolute dog. Three tenths down per lap on a just under five second track. I’ve swapped chip in it, swapped the motor, swap the axle it just has no grunt. Set for low spd and i dont have to worry bout car breaking loose bc its so slow. The others start to when tires get hot and dirty. I’m trying to figure out what it might be admitting that I am new to this. I am solely relying on 25 some years of RC racing experience. -U10

Have you sanded the tires funny enough yes it accelerates slower but in my experience is way faster in the turns but sometimes cars are just different we have 4 of the same GTLM cars and they all drive different
