There's a certain noise these tools make when you're doing it the right way. Great kit. RECOMEND to any serious angler.

I have one of these and it does work great but now just tend to touch up hooks with the diamond file on my leatherman. Does the job just as well.

I always seem to shorten the hook point and I thought that was wrong but Jason states to get rid of the original hook point so maybe I got it right?? My hooks are devastatingly sharp with a very slightly shorter tip..

Just get a small metal file and the red jag file works a treat and dip it Vaseline the vice and all the other bits you'll spend about 60 on ain't worth the money

where did you get this vice?

Before this I watched Frank Warwick and Mark Hutchinson sharpening hooks and they were doing it in the complete opposite way WTF

What do you do if you don't own a jumper?
