@Foggy8863 na not at all many think just a powerful torch works when it don't at all there is 3 tackle companies I know of that sell torches saying they scare birds when they don't and not all lazer pens work ether

Machine and chemically sharpened doesn't get much sharper, me trying to sharpen a hook out the packet is called blunting the hook lol 😂

Disagree. Some hooks barely penetrate your skin on a palm test, why wouldn't you make sure they're sticky sharp? Fair enough if you're on a runs water with aggressive feeding but not upping the percentages of hooking a fish on pressured waters is madness. Why leave anything to chance

@dragon elite its not the 90s hooks don't need sharpening out of the packets might need a rub after being on the bottom or after a fish fair enough just use the pb products rubber best sharpening tool on the market

@@aarondavies8486 if u sharpen after having a fish or reeling in why not do it before and it makes the hooks EVEN sharper yes they are sharp ENOUGH but if u want to be confident 10000% its gonna prick the fish then sharpening is better also it makes it finer making it easier to penetrate and overshotting making the hooklink heavy it will help hooking even more less chance of being done if u done it in the 90s why not do it now

@@dragonelite4394 why do it now when the tech has moved one like the esp hooks are cryo dipped to keep sharp and am not the greatest of hook sharpener so I keep it to a minimum tbh I watch a video by Elliott gray on a korda hook box with his hand sharpen hooks they have cutting edge's on them like a knife should see it mate and that sort of puts me off to I don't want to destroy carps mouth like these hooks would you should try the pb products hook rubber mate gets them needle sharp again and keeps the hook wire gadge round to

@@aarondavies8486 i use the gardner hook sharpner and why would it destroy carps mouths it only makes a tiny hole put some carp care on to stop infections and done and it only takes some vaseline or zr to stop them rusting and staying sharp the gardner one is also a rubber and keeps it round iv just chose to make a finer point
