From a Muchmusic live recording in 1985 or so.Probably one one of the best shows I was ever privy to. MuchMusic recorded it. You get full credits at the end. I left them in because every one from the Kid Creole band,the road crew , the MuchMusic crew ,the grips and VTR gang from MTL get a mention. August ;if you want I will delete it but I think it shows the band at their finest.

They did OK in North America.They were huge in Europe. Radio here was afraid of them.

@@chukcanuk Yeah. American radio was pretty racist back then. They were even after to play songs about interracial themes (Ice Cream Castles by The Time and Black Stations/White Stations by Martha and the Muffins come to mind).
I've always loved this song but never heard a live version. It's works really well and it even more energetic. I just wish I'd been there to see it in person.

One of my favorites of all time.
Great act! Incorporating music, dance, costumes and theater. For some reason they were more popular with the European crowd.

Too white for the black folks,too black for the white folks in Amerika.. Sophisticated groove and humour. They were superstars in Europe.

WOW !!....I didn't realize how rare this album " In Praise of Older women and Other Crimes " is , if you want it in mint condition .....first pressing, in which I had but I gave it away for a blunt.....Now I'm banging my head off the coconuts !!
amazing performance you can feel the energy. i've seen them live in 2009 which was great but it's nothing compared to the original coconuts and coati. Amazing band. August Darnell = Legend!

These Coconuts are Great Dancers always tight knit and when Cheryl was in the group before Janique.The later ones seem all over the place and just strut about very boring.
