"There is no satire unless you love the person." That is the satire that doesn't hurt. Thank you, wonderful Carol Channing.
@Salamon2
Жыл бұрын
That could be better described as Parody. The old Northrop Frye definition of Satire was it was exaggerated humor mixed with a point of attack, usually against a monstrous injustice or person, etc. Parody would be exaggerated humor, a point of attack, but mixed with love for the thing.

@GodsFavoriteBassPlyr

@@MrJerry9691 - I'd like to see that interview before I make comment. Larry King had a way of pushing things that were not germane to the conversation, that almost became harassing, bordering on irritating. The week Liberace died he had some of his closest friends on ... They all wanted to talk about what a great and generous and talented guy he was, and Larry COULD NOT stop obsessing about Liberace's sexuality. It became almost creepy. (If it's any comfort to you, I was a huge fan of Meryl Streep, until I saw her stand and cheer Roman Polanski at some awards show in 2003. Then I was just done. I think a lot of people were after that.)

@@isabellavalencia8026 So now you’re saying she was “half Black”, whatever that means. Maybe you mean mixed-race, which is more appropriate. By the way, she wore wigs most of her professional career.
