We urge you: don’t skip the marinade step-it really gives the shrimp lots of garlicky flavor and sets this apart from other scampi recipes.

Why is every BA chef so freaking likable. Sure the videos are super informative and teach you how to cook somewhat complicated stuff, but at least 50% of the fun are the hosts

No one was ever really afraid to show their mistakes. But many of these shows are ran by people used to TV snd they're just wasn't time to show mistakes. As younger people without tv experience started showing mistakes, the experienced people soon followed.

scampi is actually the name of the specific type of crustacean, which is similar to but not the same as shrimp. it's the italian name, whereas the latin would be Nephrops Norvegicus. fun fact: scampi are called that because they have a tendency to escape (which is understandable on their part tbh). from the italian "scappare" (to escape) and more specifically the venetian equivalent "scampar". source: im italian (and wikipedia for the latin)

Scampi is a larger shrimpish beastie, sort of inbetween a shrimp and a lobster, and is found in the Adriatic. So, she's kind of right when she says it's "in the style of Scampi".
Scampi is a species of lobster also known as langoustine. In the UK it is traditionally breaded and deep-fried then served with tartar sauce, chips (chunky fries) and lemon. Scampi in the US uses this species too but is served in garlic butter and french wine; Shrimp Scampi uses shrimp instead of Scampi/Langoustine.
